Adventure Mod

Description
The Adventure Mod aims to shift the focus of the game from managing a large number of armies and colonies towards a more role play-centered game – it encourages quality instead of quantity.

The primary way to get high quality units is through experience: Units are no longer limited by an experience cap after reaching their fourth medal, but will be elevated to Veterans, and eventually Champions.

Heroes on the other hand have access to a large numer of new skills. Overall more than 250 hero skills are present. When reaching level 15, heroes can unlock a powerful ultimate skill that depends on their combination of faction and secret tech.

It also contains skill trees, ability desciptions and many illustrations.

Summarized the mod changes mostly five aspects:

- New units: The mod includes 56 additional units, one for each combintion of faction and secret tech. Usually these are variants of existing units that are enhanced through the secret tech.

- Champion ranks: Most units can gain up to 12 ranks. Units with only a few medals are relatively weak and can use only one mod slot. However, with every level-up they get stronger and learn additional abilities, many of them unique and comparable to the gold medal rewards in Age of Wonders 3.

- Skill Wheels: Heroes have access to a complex net of skills. Developing a hero usually includes a lot of decisions as many skills are mutually exclusive.

- Economical changes: The mod tries to limit early city spam and offers additional specialization for cities through several new buildings. Similar to the way Amazons like Forests, in this mod other factions have terrain preferences, too – and a unique option to terraform sectors into their favoured type.

- AI: The AI is more likely to build tier III and tier IV units and can (on higher difficulties) actually achieve a doomsday victory within a reasonable time.


COMPATIBILITY

When combined with mods that add new factions (like Colonial Guard or Hoppers), the mod Adventure Mod – New Faction Compatibility should remove most of the conflicts.
For those who dislike the happiness penalties from terrain, this compatibility mod can also be used to remove them.

When combined with Expanded Arsenal, Nexus is required for compatibility.


REQUIREMENTS
The mod needs all three DLCs.


LANGUAGES
The Adventure Mod is currently only available in English. I might add a German localization eventually.

With only running this mod, the number of mods units can have initially is 3, even though the other changes are showing. Is there a way to fix this?

Mounts definitely can't level up. I'm actually not sure why the rank is displayed for the mount (it's too long ago that I worked on the mod...)

I noticed my High Lord mount has the Recruit trait. Does this mean that it levels up, too? In general, it seems kind of odd if they don't, though I'm not sure how they would.

@lukstoj1: All the text is included in excel files. You can find these in Steam -> Steamapps -> Workshop -> Content and then look for the files from the Adventure Mod. There's a language folder that consists again of seperate folders for each language. You can choose the language you want to translate into and replace the english text in the column for Localized String. (This is a lot of work though).

Later I could include the files in the mod.
