Description
This mod is not designed to be easy or to be generous with resources, you have been warned.

It utilises MES and Rival AI to create a horrifying and hostile faction (ABOMINATION) that often travel in pairs and show absolutely no mercy ramming if they are disarmed. Whatever created them has left them prone to self destructing when defeated (25% chance on Large Grid, 100% on Small Grid)

From the few survivors it has been said attempting to use any sort of grinder on them led to electrocution with the grinders exploding.

These encounters can rarely spawn on Planets (~1% probability) and spawn normally elsewhere.

None of the encounters have reactors and have abominable thrusters far superior to vanilla.

The only way to get ion thrusters off these ships is by capturing the thrusters intact, attempting to grind them down will not return thruster components.

Jump scare warning for the audio files. :)

Autopilot can be slightly erratic on planets sometimes.

All spawns use threat score minimums, to give players an opportunity to get built up.

The latter issue could also be because of [FactionOwner] being used in the SpawnGroup defs instead of [FactionOverride].

[SpawnGroup] -> [FactionOverride]
[SpawnConditions] -> [FactionOwner]

@Roboman5e15YT no, but a bug in the faction definition probably does this:

<Faction Tag="ABOMINATION" Founder="?????">

SE doesn't support tags that long, so it gets clipped to ABOMI
Because of the clipping, it can't find the already created faction and instead creates a new one.

@TheFinalEvent97 @Spaceman Spiff not sure who handles the .sbcs but I propose changing the faction tag to ABOM to avoid this.

This bug also seems to cause the spawned ships to show up as SPRT, at least on my server.

is there a way to lower the spawn chance?, i start on a crashed red ship game withing 30min of getting some solar panels on and a battery i get these things showing up, i can't even get the ship modified to escape before they spawn in, atm it's unplayable with this mod but i really want to have it in for later on

Great mod. Especially the sounds. Only small downside is that they don't use reactors. So "upgrading" them with modded reactors is too much work. Still huge fun to play against those Abominations.

I don't know if this mod gets updated much anymore but we are using this mod on our dedicated server. Vanilla turrets (more notably the Warfare II) turrets seem to take some time before recognizing these npcs are enemies (they appear red for me so I know they are enemies) as well as the new drone AI blocks. This is just feed back more so than a "question." I've tested against the Parallaxx npcs and Imber npcs and they work as intended but when going up against the Aboms, my grids just stare into nothingness as they just get blown away.

God these guys scared the crap out of me, was putting a new docking port on my asteroid base so that I could dock my second frigate, and then the only warning I get is a single red question mark before two abomination drones come screaming out of nowhere and begin attacking the other side of my base.

i have several ai mods in, this one, including corrupt, orks, and reavers. every 10-15 mins a Big RED questoin mark has been appearing with really loud like broken growling noise, its not reavers as they have clear growling audio, this one sounds glitchy and much louder. was wondering if its this mod?
