Mining Outpost

Description
This mod adds upgradeable fortified outposts to go on resource pools.

Each outpost includes a repair bay, laser defence, missile launcher, and upgrades to have two powerful beam turrets.
Modest self-repair ability.
Can only be built by Tech 2 builders and above.
Can only be built on resource pools.
Extractor built separately.

They do not produce any credits themselves, but provide a powerful defensive fortification for extractors built on their resource pools.
(In previous versions of this mod where the outpost included the extractor, you could still build an extra extractor on top of it. This was a little game-breaking, and I couldn't work out how to fix it, so I resorted to this)

Does not replace stock extractors.


- While this is ready for use, I will be making some improvements over time, particularly to make sure it is balanced in game.

Fixed position of laser defence and nano repair effects.

Oh yeah i get it, but my main idea was making like a separate mod but entirely modular, adding shield, laser, repair and defences to making it more custom for multiplayer (make them unpredictable for the enemy) but doesn't matter it's a very good mod anyways

Hmm, probably not going to make it more modular. The point of this mod is to remove some tedious micro-management from the game. Not looking to add more. Thanks for the suggestion though.

If you want a more modular defence, you could just build a bunch of turrets?

@WiredTiger I think AI can build them, but they don't seem to. Not much point for the AI.
I deliberately made them more expensive than the individual parts they're "made from". They're not more cost effective, but they save a lot of clicks, so you're paying for the convenience.

@WiredTiger Yeah I limited them to only be built on resource points, as otherwise they'd be OP. The clipping with other structures is a bit buggy. I couldn't figure out how to solve that without it getting in the way of the extractor. I tried incorporating the extractor into the outpost, but then balance was really difficult.

OK, I've tried it out and they are strong enough for the cost at T1. You can actually build these just as fortresses even without building the extractor, although that may not make sense.

Funnily enough, you can build a whole bunch of defences around an extractor and then build the Mining Outpost on top, even though you wouldn't be able to build the other structures if you built the Mining Outpost first.

Great Mod , works fine and its super usefull to hold an mining spot without many builders / turrets or Units
