A guided missile cruiser with 20 missile bays. Space only.


The X-600 is a classical missile cruiser with a bunch of missile bays on its roof. Since the ship and the missiles are all using ion thrusters, it is limited to space only. It doesn't offer a lot of interior space and isn't that heavily armored, but the missiles definitely make up for that. For performance reasons (game freezes for a bit when compiling scripts in welded up prog blocks), all missiles are only turret guided with Rdav's Guided Missile Script (doesn't require prog blocks in missiles), but can also be launched manually in TOW configuration. If you want raycast missiles and another script, you would have to modify the missiles and redo the setup. The ship is quite speedy, but you should keep it somewhat straight and below max speed when launching the missiles.

The ship does not need any DLCs. It has 4 subgrids, 3 projectors and 3 scripts.

Toolbar setup:
1 - Toggles battle mode on/off (turrets, welders etc.)
(missiles are launched automatically when in turret range)
3 - Fires a missile manually (TOW guidance)
4 - Fires decoys
The rest is self explanatory

It's a lovely design. 20 bays is rather small, but it's still plenty enough as an exploration ship/ light bomber.

Seems the setup needs adjustment. I swapped out the script for the newer ai blocks to make it a vanilla/ dlc only ship. I never got around to figuring out why the missiles don't launch in your design. I also made a copy and converted it to atmospheric so I can troll some friends.

This is super cool, I think I am going to try and make a similar idea but with drones instead of missiles.

One thing, in the decoy timer block, you need to have the thrusters activate, THEN the gatling guns

I cant seem to figure out how to fire the missiles, I went through the steps but it just doesn't seem to work. Also what are the chances you post a video of how you made it?

I would love to see how well you ship performs in one of the weaponcore tournaments

Loved this vid the music was great and the ship performance was awesome to behold.

Now I can just envision having a missile battery like this defending my planet side base. I am going to have to take a crash course in missile design now.
