Gladius - New Weapon Mod *Meitou included

Description
What this mod does:

Adds the following:
  • A new weapon, the Gladius.
  • A new NPC bounty to acquire the Meitou / Cross variant.
  • A new bandit faction for the aforementioned NPC to belong to.
  • Weapon blueprints so that you can craft your own.

Details:

I had planned on making one of each major type of gladius but decided against it since it would be largely redundant and instead made something that is a bit of a mix between a Mainz and a Fulham.
The weapon is available in weapon shops in most areas as is the blueprint.

The weapon's damage is broadly equivalent to a wakizashi, though without the damage bonus vs. humans, in return however it has better armour penetration (+10% as opposed to -30%) and a less harsh penalty against skeletons. The armour penetration does not really make sense since the Kenshi move sets do not include thrusts but I figured it allowed the weapon to fill a niche and since in the real world these weapons were largely used for thrusting it seemed to fit, if I ever learn how to animate I may add my own. If you have any feedback regarding the weapon's balance please leave a comment.

The new faction the 'Teethpullers' have had a base, wandering squads and faction demands set up so hopefully they should fit in quite well with the rest of the game. Currently they operate in: Okran's Valley, Wend, Arm of Okran and The Hidden Forrest

Upon either the death or imprisonment of the faction leader "Tooth" faction demands / raids should stop.

Compatibility Notes:
  • This does not alter any vanilla world states so should be compatible with reactive world, put it after this mod in your load order just to make sure it's changes get precedence just in case.
  • Mods that add a town in the same spot that this one does would cause compatibility issues, however since the faction HQ in this mod is quite out of the way that is unlikely to occur.

Thanks for taking a look at this mod, any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated. If you had been thinking of downloading this mod but decided against it or subscribed then decided to unsubscribe please let me know why so that I can improve it.

@KirrieD Sorry for slow reply - If you are looking to use this model for a mod feel free, just please provide credit. If you are looking to include the full mod contents then if possible please include this mod as a dependancy for your own.

thanks man, I hope things are good with you and I hope you don't work too hard :kabuki:
I'm kinda mimicking mostly Augustus, a little of Julius and a little of Tiberus.

@Trinity Not sure how much assistance I could be to be honest - haven't really touched the Kenshi mod tools in a while and a bit busy with work atm - if you wanted to go more down the historical route it might be a good idea do some research into specific periods of the Empire - if you are looking to have something fitting the post apocalyptic aspect of Kenshi then either 3rd or 5th century would be what you probably want to be looking at.

would you like to contribute to the faction? like how their spawns, groups, soldiers, etc be. Just something to make them look really.. either real or as if they're really kenshi people that aspire to be romans

woah, this mod has the teethpullers? Crazy. They're alot like the foot :kabuki:

I usually try to link everything, only unlinking and incorporating things that I need to because the original mod is broken, I have to edit things that require a new instance, or when I want to edit the model, itself (for weight painting reasons). If I could keep everything linked, I would.

I appreciate your options, I was going to make this faction called "New Romans" or something, kinda a pretend faction "based on real history". Like my The Fury mod, how they pretend to be spartans and etc. Thanks for letting me use it. I might not even make the mod, anyway. It seems really complex, the roman empire

@Trinity - If you run into issues doing it that way and end up needing to just use the model in your mod separately please do just make sure to credit me for the model.
The mod files for this mod should appear in the below once subscribed & downloaded:
(your steam library folder)\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\2395897526

@Trinity - sure thing, just if possible please could you make this mod a dependency (would just need to make sure that you have this mod ticked on the "Data files to inherit from" prompt).
Then if you wanted to get rid of the custom faction stuff already baked into this mod (probably for the best if you are doing your own) you can remove any references to "Teethpullers" which should then get rid of them so long as your mod is loaded after mine to override it. Just do also be aware that if you do this and still want the Meitou version to be available you will need to re-add it somewhere, as the faction stuff from this mod was basically just an excuse to have a boss that carries the weapon.
