Celeste Dash Tech

Description
This mod dedicated to those who perished on the climb

Adds a tech that lets you dash in all 8 cardinal directions, like in Celeste
  • Special 2 + any direction to dash
  • Touching the ground recharges the dash
  • Dashing from the ground up resets the dash
  • Can be bought at the outpost tech lab
  • Can be found in loot

⚠ You can configure Special 2 in the Controls menu, I recommend Shift cause it feels natural

Thank Fluffles for helping with some of the code
some code was borrowed from Tech Additions, treat it as a more balanced pulse boost
The particles are green to match the original pico-8 version (also gender neutral)

might add climbing as part of it later idk
will also learn how to code other aspects of the dash from celeste

the rocket dash in base game is like this but midair only

is it possible to make it activate by double tapping a direction?

Note that if you use this in combination with Base Tech Rebalance, you'll probably need to set your dash and distortion sphere to separate keys.

Fantastic mod, absolutely love it! Especially the fact that you still keep momentum even after dashing which makes this feel really fluid.

One problem, could you perhaps make it so that you can't dash while standing still since I can no longer shift click that reliably. (as I've replaced the shift key with alt and I keep pressing shift by accident)

I just looked at examples of how the game does tech, and went from there

you noted you are learning more about the code, do you use official ULA guides or is there a spesific starbound tech guide?

it can be easy if you know what you're doing, but ambition can get you stuck in spaghetti code depending on what you're tampering with
