Ottawa, ON v1.0

Description
Realistic reproduction of Ottawa, ON, Canada - Canada's capital city.

***I used the Big Ben as replacement for the parliament buildings, and the Cologne Cathedral as a replacement for the Notre Dame Basilica, so the map requires the Lofty Landmarks DLC to look like the screenshots!*** I also used the Rathaus (replaces the Supreme Court of Canda building), the Buckingham Palace (replaces the Confederation and Justice buildings) - so 4 landmarks on the map alltogether.

The road network is true to real life, but road width and avenue placement are adjusted for better traffic flow and gameplay. Ottawa has some transitways (bus only roads), which are included in the map. The O-Train is not pre-built on the map, because I feel it is part of the game to build metro/rail and should be up to the player to develop the transport network, not simply place stations.

Ottawa in real life only has a bus system and an O-Train (light rail), and the whole system is notoriously and horribly clogged at all times. Especially downtown buses form traffic jams by lining up 5-10 busses end to end... can you improve on OC Transpo? Or do you want to go head to head with two players and recreate the OC Transpo and STO? Or will you deviate from real life and build a metro system too (something that Ottawa is just starting to do by building a new under/above ground light rail line going under downtown).

The map is extensively play tested by me and is best used with my modified ruleset (musculus_risorius' rules), available here:

I also highly recommend MegaBray11 (CG)'s ruleset for Ottawa, available here:

Thank you for subscribing and I'm looking foward to your comments. If you like the map, please rate!

Credit goes to and base-map was created using maps4cim, with data from the OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors), which then was adjusted and modified by me.

I'm also definitely open to any and all suggestions for future maps.

During the past month I've completed this map with all possible/useful bus lines in place (OC Transpo and STO) and the Confederation and Trinity lines. The biggest choke points are Hurdman and Rideau St at Rideau shopping centre (both with over 20 lines). If anyone is interested I can send screenshots.

And if you're still active and ready to edit this map the following should be added/fixed/improved:
Transitway stations: Billings Bridge, Hurdman (with or without connection to Lees), Walkley, Greenboro and Tunney's Pasture (with or without connection to Bayview)
Roads: Bronson Avenue / Heron Road / Riverside Drive junction
Areas/Places: General Hospital and adjacent areas, Carlingwood shopping centre, St Paul University, Westgate Mall, Carleton University, TD Place/Lansdowne Park and Buildings removed from McCarthy Road between Southmore Drive and Plante Drive

Darn, you beat me to it! You did a way better job than I've done though. As a resident, I'm impressed!

TY. A map version with the O-Train would have been nice though. I always like to take an existing system and then improve upon it.
