Smart Decay

Description
Smart Decay will change your life as a Server-Admin, aswell as a Player!

To have the optimal Smart Decay experience I recommend having all Vanilla Decay Options TURNED OFF!

Features:
  • Same decay for everything!
    Every structure, every ship, every animal that has not been loaded by its own company for X days will automatically decay.
  • Decay Smart
    Decays will be performed on Serverrestart, thus they will not drain performance when its most needed!
  • Marking of decaying objects
    Structures, ships, creatures which are about to decay (Warntime defined in Ini-Setting) are marked accordingly ingame, you can only see the markings if you are close enough.
    Please note: For performance reasons, this markers are only updated or removed on restart (if you have visited the structures for example).
  • Warntime Is RaidTime Mode
    Want your players to be able to Plunder Bases that are abandonned (in PvE)?
    Without cleaning Up later? Then this Mode is for you!
    This Mod will Transfer everything on the Configured Wartime into an NPC Company that can be attacked & Damaged in PvE, Players can find and Raid the Bases.
    Later, once the Decaytime Hits everything that hasnt been destroyed / killed will be removed automatically!
  • IsFreeportGrid
    Activates 90 Seconds after Server Boot (once Decay & Logging is Finished)
    Forces Ships to Leave the Freeport after X Hours (Gridtravel), otherwise they will decay!
    Uses FreeportShipDecaytime Setting, Default is 2 Days!
  • Log Decay to Tribelog
    Additionally to the Discord Logging, companies that are affected by a Decay will be notified in their Tribelog by Warnings & Decaylogs!
  • ForceLocalDecay
    Triggered by Admin Command! Will decay the given TribeID without check in the given Radius at the given location!

Note: This Mod comes fully functional, following the Steam TOS! This Mod uses a API & Discord Bot to enhance its Functionalitys externaly. The Bot comes as a Patreon Perk! This has no Impact on the Mod itself or its Functionality

Patreon Discord Bot Features:
  • Vacation list
    Admins can Add Companies to an ExceptionList via Command, this Command is instant and mirrored to all Grids!
  • Decay warnings in discord
    At a designated Discord Channel all warnings and the number of decayed structures/ships/creatures will be logged.
    To make the whole thing a bit anonymous, companies are named with their Company ID only.
  • Special Decay for Certain Islands
    Admins can Add Islands with special Decaytimers via Command, this Command is instant and mirrored to all Grids!

@Revy I run an 11 x 11 server. I have not used this mod yet as I continue to struggle with the vanilla decay features of the game. I thought I have many times turned off the vanilla decay features yet structures still decay overtime. I believe I am missing something obvious, but it is not to me. Before I use the mod, can you point me to the correct .ini file(s) and flags to turn off those features. Does every grid's .ini file have to be changed individually?

Player Shops "Decay" has nothing to do with Vanilla Decay which i highly recommend to turn of.
You would need a modded PlayerShop for that @SeanB1014

Does this override the vanilla decay time for Player Shops, or do they still get destroyed after only a few days if they're "not maintained"?

Hi, I like your mod, my server uses it!

Please read,
The problem with it is it kills exploration on the islands.
With the decay this way there is no way to get loot, or tamed animals from others leaving.
So basically running around island to island to look for claimable stuff is gone!
I haven't visited another island since this mod was installed.

Easy fix, Make an option to set the decay to happen at 14 days and then leave a 2 day window for claimable/destory timer on the rest of their stuff!

Please consider this-
running island to island looking at peoples' work and claiming their loot was one of the best things about the game!

Getting high level babies from 1000+ hours players and saving their breed lines is very important to the game!
In ark,
I had pets from players that have quit for two years come back and I gave them their babies/pets back even.
