Description
"For seven terrible years the Siege regiments of the Imperial Guard carried out their onerous duty, manning the hundreds of miles of trenches and fortified positions that served to contain the arch-heretic’s forces. Success was measured in yards of ground gained, and every inch of that deadly ground was bought with the blood and lives of men."

The lack of Imperial Fortifications in this game is disturbing. So i sat down and made this little mod that allows Guardsmen to dig Trenches where they stand to get a defensive buff against ranged attacks.

This should give your Guardsmen a little edge in Combat when in defense.
But beware this is a Terrain Feature so enemy's could use them against you if you fail to hold them.

- i made the Mod Compatible with everything that changes the Guardsmen so this can be used as an addon for everything.

I haven't played Gladius recently or bought the latest DLC, so balancing and giving DLC units the trench ability is beyond me. Feel free to mod this to suit your game.

Copy the mod to Documents\Proxy Studio\Gladius\Mods, then edit Trenches.xml in Data\World\Traits to adjust buffs like <cityDamageReduction add="0.15"/>. To add the trench trait to other units, duplicate and rename the Guardsmen file in Data\World\Units\faction, replacing "Guardsmen" with the target unit name in the file.

Rename the main mod folder and delete any Steam ID info to ensure it shows up in-game.

Could this be updated to include the Tempestus Scions as capable of creating trenchworks? The definitive canon Tempestus Scions would be the Cadian Kasrkin who are by their very names the creators of entrenchment fortifications.

Would you consider increasing the bonus from 15 percent to 17 percent to follow the vanilla convention for damage reductions? It's not a big deal, but it's confusing otherwise (beside, I'd take any percentage increase I can get! ;)) I assume the devs chose 17 to 33 to 50 to mimick six sided die rolls as closely as possible, and it is intuitively makes more sense for us tabletop players, too.
