Description
WW2 Phones

The mod uses functionality of the Task Force Arma 3 radio[github.com] mod to realize the corded phone communication .

Notes:

Mod requires v0.9.12 or v1.Beta of the TFAR mod.

To use phones place several phones in the editor. Set unique 3 digit phone number for each phone unit in the attributes. In the mission take the receiver and dial a target number using numerical buttons on the keyboard. Once the target phone receiver is taken the communication starts, no extra button usage is needed.

The field phones require a connection from Cable reel if checkbox 'Stationary' is not checked. Using numpad numbers (sw radio channel selection) one can select a 'line' the field telephone is connected to, thus sub-nets of phones of the same type can be organized. To talk use Push-to-talk button, the same as for the short range radio communication.

To be able to use a long range radio of a Radio Operator unit place 'Radio Operator Module' on the map. Use Push-to-talk button, the same as for the long range radio to talk.

The mod changes the default rope model to a thinner one.

Who experience an issue with not hearing the opponent on the phone, try the fix proposed by CDRommel: in the global TFAR settings enable the "dont mute manually on teamspeak" and the "initialize on briefing/start" options.

Dude, reforger doesnt even compare to arma 3. Arma 4 when it comes out, ofc, but reforger? meeeeeeh.


But ofc i understand if you dont want to, thats up to you!!! But again, thank you so much for all of this, it is an incredible mod that has given us so many new awesome mission opportunities.

Also, something irrelevant to this mod:
Would you consider your other mod, retrothings, be updated to be used in zeus and have volume control? (Just a thought)

@UEemperor, I will revise the mod for the points you raised. About new stuff, hm.. there is already Reforger at a good level, if one should spend time for A3 modding is questionable.

@[ANVIL] KpoT first, thank you so much for making this. Second, I'm developing a new mod pack for my unit and was looking to include this, but also don't need all of the functionality it provides.

If I'm able to cut out everything except for the portion that lets people use long range radios carried by someone else is it ok to upload that mod with full attributions to you?

Dude, krot. First of all, this mod needs the absolute attention. This is SUCH a kickass mod.

Now, there are a few things that i want to ask, and also some requests.

1. Can we make it so that the morse code thingie SAVES messages (on the text?)
2. Can the morse thing be tuned in to specific frequencies or something?
3. The phones do not work when placed in zeus. Could we have a fix for that?
4. Could there be a better documentation of what everything does?
and lastly
5. Will you be adding new stuff? Im kinda addicted to this mod. If only it was more zeus friendly for on-the-go mission.

Dude, again, THANK YOU for this mod. This is incredible.

@Osphex, no sync. All units with LR radio at mission start get action menu. If a player takes the LR backpack during mission, the action menu to use LR radio is created for other players.

with the modules placed, do I have to sync the module with the units that are supposed to Operate LR Communications or is it simply to add Radios from the Backbacks slots?

I dont really get that part, so a detailed explanation would be really appreciated:smileduck:
