Description
Presenting the KM10300
The Kahrstrom Marine 10300 is part of the next generation of heavy duty marine diesel engines. The KM10300 packs a punch, featuring a 10 cylinder design fed by a pair of large turbo chargers. Low on maintenance and with fuel efficiency and reliability in focus, the KM10300 is hard to match. Kahrstrom Marine 10300. When lesser options simply aren't enough.

Technical Specifications
Engine type: Twin turbo diesel V10
Measurements (including sub-systems): 7.75x2.25x3.25m (length, width, height)
Weight: 1709kg
Price: $19486

Set-up
  • Load your own vehicle. Use the grid selection tool to load and paste in the engine. Merge the base part of the engine with your vehicle. Note that the engine will spin to its normal position when spawned in.
  • Connect air (white funnel), exhaust (grey funnel), fuel (grey pipe in front), coolant (directly to sea, found underneath) and move the throttle where you want it. Last but not least, remember to hook up and adjust the gearbox. I recommend running it at as high of a ratio as possible.
  • Start the engine by turning the key and then holding the ignition button until the engine reaches 120RPM and runs on its own.

A huge thanks to WH1T3_No1SE for letting me use his modular engine microcontroller <3

You may use this in your workshop creations as long as you credit me and link this page. You may NOT upload this creation at its own.

Too little power or too large to fit?

I'm not quite sure what you mean with reversing it? You will need to add a gearbox to it yourself, it's very simple if you want to add a reverse gear, just hook up a gearbox with a reverse gear in it.

Can you reverse this?

You need to engage the clutch, I don't think I put any automatic clutch on this line of engines to allow for manual control.

Ok, this is almost definitely me being smooth brained, but when I hook up the propeller to the gearbox they don't move.

Yes, measuring power is very tricky though as there is no test bed that would work for all engines. A small 4 cylinder 1x1 size engine can't spin a large generator while a 6 cylinder 5x5 size engine would be limited if you were spinning a small generator. We need a way to measure the power that works for all engines and where we don't need to mess with gearing. Generator power output isn't linear, which makes it very tricky.

One good idea would be the use of generators

Your Engines are groundbreaking and have set a new standard of modular engines in stormworks, yet it is still hard for me to figure out the best engine for my ship, it would be very nice if we had some kind of a kahrstrom power measure in all of your engines stats and the pre-existing engines in the game also be ranked to your engines, not only will it help us but it will set a standard and make your engines stand out since they really are the best.

Jesus christ, I explained it to you already. The engine has a turbocharger, but turbochargers are broken at the moment. It doesn't change the fact that it still is a turbocharger. There is only one way to make a turbocharger, if would be more misleading to make some other kind of system and call it a turbocharger.

Ну не турбо они у тебя. Я ж об этом и написал - водишь людей в заблуждение. В твоем названии не указано турбонагнетатель или турбокомпрессор. Просто ТУРБО - но его нет, ни нагнетателя, ни компрессора.

There is currently no way to TURBOcharge an engine in Stormworks. You can make a supercharger, but turbos are currently broken. If you want to talk more about it, feel free to contact me on Discord Kahrstrom#8820 and I am open to discussion :) And please, spamming the same message on all the creations? Really?
