(CV CPU Tier 4, Size Class 3, Unlock Level 25, Reforged only)

UPDATED VERSION
Due to some changes in game mechanic (e.g. weapons + shield parts) the ship is updated. Instead of the full set of minigun-turrets to the bottom I changed it to heavy cannons + lasers + a huge amount of sentry guns.
Furthermore the shield got increased to withstand enemy fire better.

Primary roles: Planetary Attack CV, Helios Module, Shield, Reforged only

The Kriel Infiltrator is a standard slot Helios Module meant to take out ground POIs by pure firepower. It can dock to the Helios by using the rear cockpit but main flight cockpit is located in opposite direction on the top floor. It only offers a 3rd person flight cockpit to ensure safety for the pilot. The small size of the module limits its survival features but at least there is space for loot and production of ammo. Although the nose section has a weird shape the module can be landed on the planet on flat ground close to the POI.

Combat

10 Heavy Cannon Turrets + 6 Heavy Laser Turrets are very powerful setup to attack planetary POIs. Combining firepower with the build in T2 shield and 1 Capacitor Bank + 4 Capacitors and 4 Chargers the ship can engage the harder POIs on planets (not Sector Command - NO!). The front nose with all turrets is built out of Combat steel with a decoy generator enclosed in Xeno to attract enemy fire. All vital components are placed in the back so loosing the front section does not lead to total loss of the ship. The Turrets and Sentries are fed from 2x 320k ammo controllers. For safety when landed to loot the POI the rear is protected by 2 Sentries which activate by signal logic (landing gear).

Survival

Due to the small size there is not much space for survival features. But the Module provides at least a few basics like detector, WIFI, full med bay, O2-station, fridge, armor locker and O2 ventilation everywhere inside the ship. 1 advanced constructor can produce more ammo or what else is needed. To store the loot or production materials there is 1x 320k standard storage controller integrated in the ship. But you will NOT find a farm, hangar or further RP-stuff inside.

Summary

- Reforged only - 1 Basic, 2 Improved, 5 Advanced Cores (2.1 m CPU)
- Helios Module to dock to the standard bay (1-X)
- massive firepower against ground POIs
- Shield at 30.450 stock
- hardened nose to resist counter fire and provide save pilot position (3rd person only)
- enough ammo storage, 1 advanced constructor to produce more

Fighting

- Keep in mind this is a Helios Module and no full size Combat CV. It is armed to the teeth and properly armored but Kamikaze-like attacks will lead to death - your death ;)
- Because of the construction the POI should be enganged from one corner and from the top - not close to the ground. All turrets should concentrate fire.
- Turrets are all set to Base turrets with the two top turrets and all outer row top turrets attacking drones as well. Don't mess around with drones, target is the POI.
- Pointing down the nose can sometimes lead to not shooting with all turrets. Try to stay leveled or slightly pointing up the nose.

Have fun attacking POIs as much as I had building this beast.

thanks harg for the constructive feedback. yeah, it is old (built before shield parts and thruster adjustment in Reforged where it was built for). I tried updating it earlier to common meta but it is just too small for all parts.
I not tested it in Vanilla lately but it should do its job there and thrust should be overwhelming :)
For RE I doubt I can adjust besides major changes (and keep in mind: Helios module scale). Maybe I give it a try again in the future but it is not POS 1 tbh.

beautiful build, the turret placement on the arms is fantastic and the texturing is top notch. for me, the ship suffers from three issues:

1. the ship does not need two advanced generators. it does need more shields, a warp drive and downward facing drive thrusters. i pulled one adv gen and cleanly replaced it with shields/warp drive, but i'm having to chop the bottom lines up to make it work in 4g with drive thrusters.

2. shield tanking is preferred because it is less expensive and you shouldn't mix tanking types (armor vs shield) because they make the other less effective. all the blocks in the ship were replaced with plastic after upgrading the shield in point 1 and now it take less fire because it can move faster.

3. relatively minor, but the inside of the ship is a maze and not set up for base raids. jumping into the forward elevator shaft as the only ground entrance is failure prone process. the forks in the forward elevator shafts are easy to miss and confusing to navigate. i've color coded the doors so they're harder to miss but they're still a keyboard dance to navigate.

the ship looks fantastic, especially the contrast of alien lines with federation lines while hanging in the helios slot. it does reasonably well against unshielded pois on normal gravity, but it suffers against shielded targets (because of its own low shields) and on high grav worlds (because of missing drive thrusters).

:steamthumbsup: Though I'd refrain from tossing heavy turrets on it, since that dramatically raises the build requirements for people looking to build one earlier and then upgrade turrets when ready. An advanced shield and space for upgrades would be welcome though.

Good question Jᴧgᴧ ;) and thanks for taking a look at it. IIRC laser turrets couldn't shoot in atmo when this ship was built. But I could be wrong.
There is a general overhaul needed anyway since it has no shield parts or heavy turrets.
