[EA25] The Troubles Config

In 1968, Britain deployed troops to its Northern Ireland province to control instability. They were supposed to be there for a few months. Instead, they fought against Irish separatists for nearly 3 decades before peace was finally negotiated. These were the Troubles, a period of insurgency and violence between the Irish Republican Army (IRA) and any forces loyal to the UK, including its military and other paramilitary groups.

This config aims to capture the asymmetrical warfare between the IRA and the British military during that time frame. British troops have light attack helicopters and air transports, while the IRA have guided missiles to counter them. The British have APCs with autocannons, while the IRA have artillery trucks. Both sides have exclusive weapons (tear gas, molotovs, etc.), though they do share common guns like the Sterling. To win battles in this configuration, the player will need to take advantage of each side's unique combat options.

This is not a statement on the Troubles, IRA, or any other groups involved in that conflict. This is just an exploration of the conflict through in-game mods.
