[WOTC] Advent Hunter's new Sniper

Description
Personal Lore:
"The ADVENT Hunters originally existed as a more black op's unit led by Elite Hunter Captains for hunting high profile targets which is why they use the Advent Long Lance rifles, they're a lot more common these days and slightly less trained as a result but their overall role in combat remain the same, rumors out there support the idea that they were trained by some high ranked individual who we believe is called The Hunter not much more info than that though."


Mod Information:

This mod changes the weapon model of my Advent Hunters (A Cut Content enemy from War of the Chosen) from the retextured Dark Lance to Iridar's recently released Advent Long Lance Sniper Rifle from their Advent Arsenal Weapons pack, link to the mod:

By default all 3 tiers of the weapon use the Mag version of the Long Lance, I have however added an option in the WSR ini file of the mod to replace the tier 3 version with the Plasma version, it is disabled by default and to enable it remove the ; that is in front of the line, you also have to remove or otherwise disable the existing line that changes the tier 3 rifle to the Mag version.


It also restores the model of the Advent Hunter Captains for Skirmish Mode + purposes and others things like that, doesn't implement the unit itself into encounter lists or anything so neither mod will have the unit show up anywhere as of now.

Compatibility:
This mod would be incompatible with any other mods that also try to change the Advent Hunter sniper rifle, or the Advent Hunter Captain model.

Should be compatible with Iridar's recently released Advent Arsenal - Vanilla Balance mod, that one also replaced the Advent Sniper's rifles with the Long Lance as well.

If bugs do arise related to them then let me know and I'll try to address them if possible

Not this mod because it has nothing to do with EXALT, your probably looking for the mod by Cloista that renames MOCX stuff to EXALT.

I'm trying to found out where the 'EXALT Long Lance' weapon is coming from. Anyone have any ideas?

@Deadput Looking at the folder, is all I need to do is copy your template changer, and put in the weapon template to be replaced and its replacement.

Most of the time, I look at the torso, helmet, and color, and the green hunter seems iconic now due to it spawning more than the Sniper.

Yeah there's no issue with using both, their compatible and now the two have different models (Hunter has belts and pouches, Sniper does not) so their not entirely identical.

just wanted to point out there is a similar unit in black, if there is a problem with the green colour

Ah it was more so a comparison of the quality of the mods in comparison rather than self depreciation but thank you for the words all the same it is appreciated.

@Deadput, Hey don't put yourself down, I as much as everyone in this community appreciate you taking time out of your day to bring these creations to the community. I know you bring up the Claus comparison but to be honest, sometimes less is more. I like Claus's enemy mods even though sometimes I believe the look of some of his enemies are a tad overboard, like the custodians shoulder pad being awquardly big, but its a personal expression just like yours and it doesn't diminish the work either one of you has done:)

Yeah for all intents and purposes, the Advent Sniper is probably the definite Advent Marksman for quite a few people, and it did come out first with vanilla and is likely the inspiration for the Advent Hunter much like how the Advent Priest in WOTC might of been inspired by another vanilla Advent mod, the Advent Priest mod.


It just so happens that the cut content unit here so happen to be Firaxis's take on the concept that simply didn't see the light of day.

For me these Advent Hunters are my personal pet project, out of all the mods I have made for Xcom 2 the Advent Hunter stuff is the stuff I am the most attached and proud of, even if their not as big or unique as say a Claus enemy unit.
