Warhammer 40k Covenant Army

Description
This is a work in progress army. There is a lot missing. But I figured I'd put it out there while I'm working on it. Cause people might want to use some of the models while I'm putting this together. The Pictures above are ordered by oldest to newest models. So the first few might be a bit rough, as they were how I taught myself 3D modeling.

Completed Tasks:
Grunts
Jackals
Skirmishers
Elites
Brutes (Atriox is planned, but I don't know why TTS doesn't like his model)
Drones
Hunters
Ghosts & Wraiths
Brute Choppers
Elite Revenants
Portable Shield (I figured out how to make the shields look better! Weeew!)
Elite Specters

Things to do:
Make Vehicles
Make Engineers
I figured out how to make the models not top heavy! I just need to go back and do it to all the models... We'll get to that.
Rebalance an old fanmade Codex
Go back and touch up my earlier models

Things I can't do:
Textures - Help?

Think I'm missing something on the to do list? Let me know!

@flamingfeather what you can probably do is make specialized units rather than splitting up the wargear. that's another way that GW is handling new units and their wargear. Like Sangheli Stealth squads that can take a few chaff spec op grunts or something which are melee focused. Give all brutes melee weapons, a chieftan/sgt that has the grav hammer etc.

@Desara No kidding. I just built a Combat Patrol for 10th edition out of my nids, and this list is so much more powerful than what I could do with 500 pts of nids in 8th. Sense when did my chaff units get s 5+ armor save? I'm not complaining, I'm just blown away that Xenos got some actual love. And the divisions being the new sub-factions is good to be aware of.

I'll still need to get some games in, but I'll likely try and balance weapons on X per 10 models or something like that. Give an alternate or two for base weapons and then let the rest be "Heavy Weapons" for the squad. I worry about bloating the covie unit roster with variants like the Ranged vs Melee Warriors. As there are already so many races of troops. But we'll see what I have to end up doing. Though Banshees are 100% doing flybys. IDK if it's gonna be a Stratagm or a base ability. But they will be bombing fools.

Prowlers complete in their entirety! All 96 variants are done and uploaded. Next we'll round off the biological units by going back and adding sleeping Grunts and the Brute and Elite Gunners that will Dismount from our new vehicles.

@FlamingFeather GW didn't balance free wargear at all lol. You pretty much just take the best gear and that's it. So tons of plasma is running around for basically free so long as the models exist for it. Other than that; GW has started to take the approach that the wargear is just hard coded on the model like with Tyranid Warriors having a Melee datasheet and a Ranged datasheet rather than mix and match. Same goes with Tau Crisis Suits.

As for fliers actually helping, it'll be a rough cookie to crack. Mostly just has to be balanced in point costs. Would be nice to see Vampires 'stun' units in the air kinda like the Pheonix in Starcraft 2 and Banshees dropping bombs and doing flybys.

28 more variants of the Prowler complete. Alternate Turret has been designed. Giving the Brutes access to the Incinerator Turret. Ya'll know what a flamethrower is. Now you can cook your enemies after you ran over their friends. 16 More variants to go before Prowlers are complete.

@Th3 H1VEMIND Ehhhhhhhy ....Though Ground Titan wise I'm planning several variants of the Scarab. With the crowning piece being the Giant Scarab from Halo Wars. The one you blow up in the campaign before it's fully built. Though I will have to see if I can find what the legs are suppose to look like on that thing. I don't remember seeing it fully assembled anywhere.

@Th3 H1VEMIND Ehhhhhhhy, Another Nid player. I have plans for the Covie's Infantry to interact a lot like how Nid HQs interact with their troop choices, by supporting particular units with strong buffs. So that your troop choices inform your HQ choices. So I figure you'll be very comfortable with how that works out.

But as far as flying Titans go, I could theoretically go for something like a Covie Corvette. But those things are over 900 meters long, rather than the few dozen meters long most Titans are in 40K. So I'm not sure what would fill a Flying Titan role. Other than maybe that up sized Phantom thing from Halo 4? (You may have been able to tell, but there's not much 343 stuff here)

@Desara Vampire is a great idea, thank you. I certainly hope to represent the Covie's heavy air presence in combat by making the air units that are present able to support ground units in unusual ways for 40K. So ideally at least Phantoms or a few banshees will be a common sight at 2K points.

After that I think I will go back to the Infantry and add the New Dismounted Gunners that will be needed for the Prowler and Specter. I'll likely also fulfill @TheRealShadowDoctor's old request of adding sleeping Grunts to the roster. Once those are done, all we'll have left on the Ground Vehicles is the Locust and Scarab. Then Air Vehicles and Engineers is all that's standing between us and a rule book.

Damn, I'mma need to get some games in from 10th edition to figure out what the balance feels like now adays. I've not really played sense 8th. Only did like 1 game of 9th. Hey, is Wargear still free in 10th edition? The concept of balancing free wargear is rather intimidating. XD

Alright, Initial Prowler with both the Mine Layer and the Clan Carrier attachments has been made. Saying "Fuck it" and slapping hand holds to the top of the Mine Layer felt very Brutish. So one of the Clan mates will have a very precarious seat when the vehicle is fully upgraded.

Now that the Main Prowler body is done with both attachments, the various stages of crew on the Clan Carrier, and the weapon variants should move by relatively quickly.
