Description
"Wow Bob, you really outdid yourself this time with that door's craftmanship. Look at that door knob, look at that symmetry, phew. If that won't save us from the bugs I don't know what will. Go ahead and put it at the front." - boss pawn

Ever felt like you wanted more out of vanilla doors? Well, look no further.

features:
  • adds the quality stat to doors (applies to both simple and auto doors).
  • allows quality to affect doors' hitpoints and opening speed.
  • makes doors minimizable so you can uninstall and reinstall your doors.
  • increases default work to build of doors by 1.5x.
  • increases work to build factor of metals (steel:2x, uranium:1.57x, plasteel:1.13x) and wood (1.43x) to better align with stone's 5x.

I used vanilla market value quality factors as a reference, and by far the factors for hitpoints and opening speed this mod uses are very modest in comparison. Here are the values in case you like them nitty gritty details :D

As you can see, opening speed improvements aren't too drastic. I figured you're likely to leave doors open or use autodoors where you need fast movement. However, I thought it makes sense that high quality doors would open more easily. Think of it like the builder did such a good job the door has little friction on hinges and it doesn't get stuck on the floor. Wooden and metal doors are still going to be faster than stone doors, so nothing new there.
Hitpoints on the other hand is what this mod is mainly about. So quality affects this to a greater degree. Now you can bring a new strategy to your defenses by placing durable doors where you need them the most for the price of one.

FAQs:
Can I add this to an existing save?
Yes, all pre-existing doors will just be at awful quality.

Is it safe to remove from an existing save?
Yes, doors will just revert back to their plain old vanilla selves.

Load order?
Already taken care of internally for you so you can auto-sort in the mod manager.

CE compatible?
yup.

Is this compatible with <insert name> door mod?
compatibility isn't as much as an issue with mods that add doors, rather, its whether this mod will affect those doors. This mod affects the vanilla base def for doors. So mods that add new doors based off vanilla doors will also gain the quality stat and have their HP and opening speeds affected.

Compatible with:
QualityBuilder
Quality and Durability

Mods with doors confirmed to be affected by this mod:
Vanilla Factions Expanded - Settlers
Doors Expanded ... patched. Makes all doors minimizable, except for blast doors and remote doors. Quality will affect the HP and opening speed of these doors just like vanilla doors.
[WD] Reinforced Doors
Hospitals Expanded ... patched. Makes all sterile doors minimizable. Quality will affect the hp and opening speed of these doors just like vanilla doors.

Mods with doors confirmed to NOT be affected by this mod:
(and most likely won't get patched on this end)
Doors Expanded (dev)

Can you patch <insert name> mod?
This mod is meant to be primarily played with vanilla doors. That said, let me know if there any big door mods out there that aren't being affected by this mod and would make sense for them to be. I'll try to look into it.

@rp92a so you are sure the hp is not scalling?

*Edit* Correction to my previous statement, opening speeds ARE affected, but door HP still is not. Still worthwhile mod to use for me. Ymmv

After a very brief bit of testing in 1.5, the doors do have quality that impact their value, and are uninstallable, but their hit points and opening speeds appear to be unaffected.
