Description
An XCOM Weapons faction add-on

Let the Unification begin...



Adds a hostile faction, The ADVENT.

The ADVENT faction currently has 5 units: Units are divided in, up to, three ranks.

  • The Shieldbearer Class Standard and Elite ranks. Usually come packed with explosives and heavy armor.

  • The Trooper Unit Standard, Advanced, and Elite ranks. The trooper unit will wear trooper-class armor and arrive armed with increasing quality of weapons based on their rank. Can be standard gunners or snipers.

  • The Stun Lancer Unit Standard, Heavy, and Elite. The Stun Lancer unit wears the base trooper armor but swaps out for an advanced helmet that incorporates a user interface which enhances their speed and abilities and blocks all forms of psychic attacks. Stun Lancers are given battle stimulants before a raid and will show up with melee weapons or shotguns.

  • The Officer Unit Standard, Advanced, and Elite ranks. The Officer Unit is the elite force on the battlefield, outranked only by the General. Officer units wear medium armor and come equipped with increasing quality of firearms. Elite Ranks may show up as snipers.

  • The General A boss level unit, the General will show up with the highest quality armor and top tier weapons. Be on the lookout for an Alien Data Processor. Generals and Elite Officers have a chance to carry one which is needed to unlock the Alien Alloy Research.


New Resources

Alien Alloys are very rare but are needed to craft the top tier armor. Alien Alloys may be dropped by ADVENT soldiers, smelted from spaceship debris, or crafted after learning the recipe through research. If you are very lucky you may receive it as a reward. Alien Alloys are extremely valuable, lightweight, and very strong.



Notes:
  • Eventually I may patch Alien Alloys into the base weapon mod. I want to test it here first for balance and then begin to roll out to the "boss tier" weapons.

  • The Shieldbearer armor requires Royalty. If you do not have Royalty loaded, the Shieldbearer units will default to Trooper armor but will still equip the Shieldbearer helmet.

  • If you wish to add faction to a current save use Vanilla Factions Expanded .

  • ADVENT based events are in the thinking chamber.

  • Playable ADVENT scenario....also a possibility.

yes great mod the I think an amazing addition would be if every time they attacked you John Bradford would say commander, the aliens continue to make progress on the avatar project if were going to slow them down we need to move fast

I'm without a computer for a couple more weeks and behind on a lot of projects. I haven't abandoned this. Just need to get set up in my new place and get caught up again.

commander. the aliens are still moving forward on the Avatar project. Taking out that facility would deal a serious blow to their efforts.
