406 Pogo - Model OE5-D Utility Vessel

Description
Temura Industries Model OE5-D Utility Vessel

  • Jump range: 24.07ly
  • 60x65x67
  • 2991.8 tons
  • Crew: 4

The Pogo (registration 406-A8-998) is an OE5-D Utility craft, originally built as a limited-production deep-space satellite recovery ship. Years on, the Pogo has since been overhauled for greater flexibility with reinforced superstructure, aftermarket engines and additional cranes to fit a less nuanced role as an independent savager. Dwarfed by scrapper colony rigs and industrial reclaimers, small ships like the Pogo remain competitive thanks to far greater mobility and speed, able to reach out and snag valuable components along high-incident zones as soon as they are located.

To assist in long-range detection of possible salvage mass, the Pogo carries an oversized sensor array dominating the underside of the craft that retracts flush against the hull for landing. With a wide suite capable of distinguishing a variety of materials from the void and at great distance, this array can operate in both active and passive modes. Thanks to this plus layers of magnetic shielding, the Pogo can venture far deeper into dangerous gravity and magnetic abnormalities in search of salvage

Limited defences consist of three autobeam turrets, the forward of which has been mounted on the ships starboard extending boom and linked to a control console for added use as a salvage cutting beam

CONTROLS_______________________________________________________

1 - Forward Bay Door
2 - Dorsal Bay Door
3 - Aft Bay Door
4 - Crew Ramp
RClick- Retract/Deploy Antenna {needed prior to landing]

______________________________________________________________

-A space pickup truck, with all the trimmings. Docking rings are on both sides, the shutters for each can be toggled from the cockpit via the two overhanging buttons above the starboard seat

-External crane can be operated from the station behind the cockpit, it's a bit of a pain right now but if I can work out a better control scheme I'll update it

-Forward beam turret can be controlled from the other station and can be extended to clear the antenna

-The internal crane (in the main bay) can be re-oriented into a vertical position once the dorsal door is open (yellow buttons in the control room, crane cockpit and B Deck gantry)

-There are two heads, one on B deck between the galley and rec room, the other on D deck just past the logic core off to the side.

-As is tradition, the antenna retract (R Click). Each system takes a few seconds to cycle, the boarding ramp (Button 4) takes a bit longer

-While landed or docked, the front bay door has a built-in lift for freight and small hovercraft, although it may be easier to use the cranes

-The two vertical racks in the main bay are fitted to the SKIPJACK EV Pod, but any small ship can dock.

Inspired by Magnetic Rose, Alien and Planetes ships, a mashup of each. This one was fun to make!

Big thanks to daOyster for the multideck elevator circuitry shared in:

question : how do you get the skipjacks onto the racks? im new to the game so may be doing something wrong but so far i either end up embedded in the rack or bouncing around the bay like a pingpong ball.
