A-10-tastic - Vanilla (JSRS Compatible) - A-164 & GAU-8 Sound Overhaul

Description
Repacking, alternating or reuploading of this mod or any of it's addons is prohibited!

This mod brings a JSRS compatible, complete sound overhaul to the airplane as also some tweaks to the GAU-8 for the vanilla A-164 Wipeout.

Playing vanilla Arma without the JSRS sound mod? Install this version instead.

Featuring dynamic and high quality sounds for:
- Internal (cockpit) view
- External (3rd person) view
- GAU-8 shooting (internal and external view)

Changes to the GAU-8 for a more realistic approach:
- No tracers for the 30 mm ammunition (as the real thing doesn't use tracers either)
- Magazine size set to the typical combat load of 1150 rounds
- GAU-8 limited to two fire modes: One or two second bursts
- Tweaked muzzle velocity of the 30 mm ammunition according to real GAU-8 data I researched
- Increased damage and area of effect range compared to the vanilla settings
- Increased firing rate for the GAU-8 to better match reality: Resulting in a total amount of about 9 long or 18 short bursts available before all ammo is spent (this potentially makes gun runs far more devastating but they should also be used more wisely as the magazine will be emptied a lot quicker)

Server key is included.
I recommend to install the mod on the server and all clients as it's not only changing the sounds of the A-10 but some of the weapon, magazine and ammunition properties related to the GAU-8 as well. It seems to work without errors when only installed client side though.

Note: This mod is not under active development anymore. Any game breaking bugs will be fixed. Other than that, don't expect any updates for this mod in the foreseeable future.

@G.I. Joe Yes! I started reworking my mod recently, my goal is to have a single all-in-one mod eventually. Compatibility with the new JSRS is supposed to be part of it. I don't want to make any promises though, Arma and gaming are not my highest priorities in life at the moment.

@IPandaKnightI Hey man, you might want to check out DynaSound 2 in combination with my mod. Discovered this last week myself. Makes 30 mm impact sound pretty brutal. :D

okay well thats the only thing i think is lacking. The damage and effects are pretty spot on i would like to see the sound of the impacts soon

I didn't MAKE any of these sounds. I found high quality recordings and was able to obtain licenses for them. All I did was editing and tweaking them.
The impact sounds are the ones that come with the Arma engine. I couldn't find any high-quality recording to replace them yet.

Hey guys, I just patched all my mods!
A separate version for ACE compatibility should no longer be necessary, found a simpler and integrated solution instead. :)

Thank you! I know the ACE planes class starts with a B, im unsure if that affects the scripts config or if it affects how it applies the new maincannon over the it. But looking forward to the compat!

Thanks for the detective work! That explains why I never had this issue since I‘m not playing with ACE. I‘ll look into it. Shouldn’t be a problem to make a compat. :)

I see that ACE changes the default A-164 and places theirs instead. Think you can make an ACE compat ?
