Surrounding terrain and obstacles, being on the ground or in the air, your distance and angle (e.g. if the A-10 is shooting in front of you or behind you, or if it's coming from the side) to the A-10 definitely do make the gun sound different though.
Well, my mod basically has only two GAU-8 sound files: One recording of a one and two second burst each. So it does sound the same every time, at least to some extend. The Arma engine usually makes it sound very different depending on distance etc., like I said. I haven’t tried Dynasound yet, maybe it‘s interfering with those dynamics. :/
