HiTech Bed (Lights Off)

Description
Based on the HiCan concept by Hi-Interiors, this environment includes a 70+ inch (diagonal) projection on a built-in screen at the foot of a cocoon-like bed, which is great for binging shows or playing video games in your own quiet sanctuary away from the rest of the home (virtual or real). This particular environment is especially comfortable and more immersive when accessed while lounging on a couch (my preferred Virtual Desktop experience), recliner, or in bed with a few pillows propping you up.

This version of the HiTech Bed environment was created with all of the ceiling, table, and built-in bed lights turned off, which gives the room a relaxing atmosphere. I have also created a well-lit version with all of those lights turned on, making the room feel more energetic (link below).

A nighttime version with is also available.

Note: The wall art is based on the work of a very talented Portland artist named Christopher Marley (no affiliation) that I discovered while visiting the Pacific Northwest.

What I sometimes do is hold the headset behind me (facing forward) and hit F4 to recenter it so that when you then put the HMD back on, you are that much closer (or higher/lower/angled depending on the device relative to you when you hit F4). Since it is only a bed, there's just about six feet between the default position and the screen, but let me know if that doesn't work for you.

This looks amazing! Is there any way to move closer to the screen?

Thank you for the feedback! I have updated the environment, which should fix the screen clipping issues that some users reported. Originally, I had a “projected image” plane that was separate from the screen model itself. Now, the projected image is a cut-out section of the screen model with nothing immediately behind it.

I never experienced the issue on my side, so please let me know.

The environment shouldn’t be laggy, but it might take a few seconds to load. I will note that whenever I hover over titles that initiate previews in streaming services (such as Netflix), I do experience lag for a brief moment in any environment.

Laggy and screen clips with the wall making it partially invisible. It's super good looking and otherwise well made though
