Fictional Edit - Senatorial Office

(NOTE: This is the newest, current version of Senator(Emeritus) Steve Phillips and should replace the prior version for any current matches.)

The now-former Senator(I-IL) makes his return to the ring after a year away with a renewed purpose and a fresh new bag of tricks.

On Friday, February 28th, 2020, the Senatorial Office hosted Lariats and Legislators #10: The Changing of the Guard, an event headlined by the monumental retirement match of then-Senator Steve Phillips against the legendary Geese Walker. Phillips won a match that would be acclaimed to be one of the greatest in the promotion's history and left the Office entirely, stepping down from his Chairman role and exiting the ring, seemingly for good.

Later in the year, a defeat in his home state would bring an end to Phillips's three term tenure in the United States Senate, and the ousted politician now found himself looking at an uncertain future. A failed attempt at a political treatise for the times, "The Janus Solution: How to Bridge the Gaps in a Divided Nation" went nowhere. Showing at ringside for occasional Office events did not seem to go anywhere. Previous issues with various cable news outlets ensured that contributing for any of them would not be an option. Phillips's girlfriend, and current Office/UCSS competitor Aoife Daley eventually grew frustrated enough at the former Senator's lack of direction to demand that he return to training, if only to burn away excess energy.

Meeting with a team of longtime allies, including Anthony Kalb, Kevin Fitsharris and "Textbook" Tim Dwight, Phillips went back into the gym in secret, refining old techniques, drilling new ones and seeing if a serious attempt at a comeback would even be feasable. A consensus was eventually met, with Phillips finding that while age and injuries had taken their toll, and a full return to his peak physical form would be unattainable. However, with adjusted expectations and a refined approach, Phillips found that an eventual return to competition was not out of the question.

Content to slowly and methodicallly continue his training, Phillips discovered that his return to the ring would have to be hastened with his old arch-nemesis, Morgan "Midas" Matthews threatening the future of the Office with an egotistical power play. Finding that he was in a unique position to thwart Matthews's maneuver, the Senator Emeritus finally returned to the organization he founded, and successfully won his return match upon doing so. The future might not be certain for Steve Phillips, but one thing is clear, now; he is no longer content sitting on the sidelines as it plays out.

Yes, there's a lot of stuff to download here, but considering that I made thirteen of those moves specifically for this edit, I consider them justified!
