Light Campaign Overhaul

Description
This mod makes edits to the campaign while aiming to retain a mostly vanilla feel.

This mod utilizes assets from the following mods (with permission from the creators):
Rome Remastered – Unit Pack by Basileus_PL
Totalis Bellum: Nabataean and Bosporan Kingdoms by Crysix
Carthage Unit Roster Upgrade by White Wolf
Warlock's Unique Copycat Legions by Warlock Engineer
Mundus Magnus Map by Makanyane
Credit and thanks to those modders.

IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

This mod was made for the English language version of the game and will probably not work with other languages.

This mod was designed around Remastered campaign settings and Realistic unit colors and may not work with other settings.

These are some of the main changes:

Vanilla map replaced with Mundus Magnus

3 new factions – the Nabataean Kingdom, the Bosporan Kingdom, and the Mauryan Empire

Rome united into one faction, no Senate

All barbarian factions can now form hordes

Egypt has been converted to a Greek faction, the Ptolemaic Kingdom. Removes the most egregiously inaccurate units – Pharaoh’s Guard, Pharaoh’s Bowmen, Chariots, and Nile Cavalry

Expanded building trees for all factions – Barbarians can now upgrade to huge cities

Changes to building effects (mining income slightly increased, barracks provide law and experience bonuses, all factions can hold races in level 3 and 4 stables, and more)

Added 8 new mercenary units and made mercenaries more widely available

Over 200 new units have been added, with their stats balanced around vanilla + my tweaks – I say “new” units, but in truth, many of these are simply porting existing units to other factions to better round out their rosters (such as adding slingers or peltasts to factions that were missing them)

Many units have had their stats tweaked – for instance, all units now have +2 morale across the board when compared with vanilla. Battles in Rome Total War could often go very fast because of mass routing, so this should make battles last a little bit longer, but not too long. Most units have received 3 officers. Bastarnae have been buffed, Spartan hoplites have been buffed, etc. There are more changes but too many to list them all here.

Removed the ugly white underlay beneath settlements (this is probably the most minor change but to me one of the most aesthetically pleasing ones)

Some notes:

My unit scale is set to experimental, and so it was created with that in mind, but it should work fine with other unit scales.

Nabataean units have standard bearers, but they are textured as rebels and carry a rebel Pontus banner.

Bosporan officers carry a Macedonian standard.

The barbarian phalanx units have secondary swords, but they are invisible.

Even though Barbarians can build up to Huge Cities and this displays correctly on the campaign map, the battle map will not reflect this layout and will only display up to the city level.

Because Egypt has been converted to a Greek faction, this means that the Pyramids wonder becomes useless because it only gives a loyalty bonus to Egyptian culture settlements. I have read that wonder effects are hardcoded, if so there is no fix for this.

Indian army and city banners on the strategy map have the eagle symbol of the Roman Senate instead of the proper Indian symbol.

Just stopped by to thank you for the mod but i've stumbled upon your last comment.

I hope you're okay man, that sounds like a terribly rough patch. I wish you well and hope you're doing good.

So, obviously it's been over a year since I last posted about an update. I was working on it religiously for several months before I took a break around May. Well what a coincidence because my life decided to basically fall apart right around then. I got my heart broken into a million and one tiny little fragments, then one of my cats died, then I totaled my car, then I failed out of school, then I noticed friends slowly drifting away so I spend most days alone, which would normally be great for modding, but I'm in no mental state to do so. I hope one day I can go back and finish it, I documented all of what I had left to do and had lots of ideas I thought were cool. I'm not trying to score pity points, but I just figured I'd let you all know what's what for anyone that might care. Sorry to disappoint.

Hey, it's been awhile since we've heard from you. I understand you're probably just busy with life, but was just curious on the status of the update you mentioned back in March.

Can you make an alternate version of this mod with the Roman Senate intact? I really enjoy the vanilla Rome Senate/3 family mechanics. Great mod.

Any news on when to expect the update?

May i suggest

1) add chorasmia and the region above to parthia, they pose a very little treat even to the shitty border of seleucid empire (they also need money, they start with negative income)
2) boost main parthia starting settlement a little
3) make factions start with almost 2 settlements (ex. dacians, tracians, numidians, parthians, armenians)
4) boost greeks a little (give back syracuse and pergamum)
5) add kingdom of Saba in the south arabia as a faction
6) add kingdom of Aksum in aethiopia as a faction
7) make tolemaic roster have sense.
8) remove something to the barbarians in power, they have too many elite units. they are meant to have weaker elites but with easier access.
9) boost a little nabateans
10) make a sub-mod where the three roman families are added back into the game
