Description
Notoriety can't be all bad, can it?

Ever wish Notoriety weren't just a lame "sit there and do nothing except maybe punish you" card?

Well. Give this mod a whirl, see what you see... you'll be pleasantly surprised.

(Also, a bonus item for the industrious, look hard and find it!)


Spoiler: What this mod does is give notoriety some functions.

First, you can put -up to- 4 notoriety into the work verb and they will become 4 funds, putting your notoriety to use one could say. This removes the notoriety with a cute reason why if you read it (ymmv on if it's cute or not).

Second, you can put a notoriety into the research verb along with a lesson's learnt to write down your knowledge into a journal. This effectively gives the player the ability to turn things like Glimmering: A Lesson Learnt into A Book of Poetry. This is also true for erudition, and as a special addition, I've created a new book for vitality! You still have to use research as normal to turn these books back into lesson's learnt for their various uses, but it does create a nice way to build up to 4 of them without the normal hassle/juggling in different verbs to keep their timers from going down. This function does not use up the notoriety, and is a -notoriously- bad idea to do when an investigation is on going to hide notoriety (it has a very short 30 second timer).

And that's it for now. I may add more functionality in the future. I was thinking of some how using evidence or notoriety to remove debuffs from followers/passion/reason.

@Sir Walter Melon, as hornetcorset mentioned, Achieve Integrations is a required mod for this one to work. If you don't have that one, mine won't do much if anything.

For some reason I cannot get this (awesome sounding) mod to work. No matter what I can't use Notoriety with Work or Research.

As to the notoriety for money, it is a convenience, absolutely. Sometimes, at least for me, I just don't feel like dealing with notoriety in the standard "destroy it with a forge" route, or a "let them turn it into evidence and destroy it with moth" route. Or feeling like just holding it so it isn't grabbed by the auto.

You know? I'd consider it not giving money, but frankly IRL people often do turn notoriety into financial gain, so it felt thematically appropriate when I was designing it. xD

I may revisit this mod and add some more interesting things to do with mystique and a couple of other things too. I'm just on a break atm.

Straight up burning notoriety for money seems a little broken, i would limit it to the 4 noto recipe only, just to add more risk. The skillbooks are nice, though.
Oh, and a bit more immersive text would be better, ty.

Being able to straight up turn notoriety into money seems broken, that functionality is already there with painting.

seems cool am gonna try this mod out. Notoriety has often been the most boring timer in the game, as its hard to hide or annoying to get removed
