Racing AI

Description
Disclaimer:
This is my first mod. I've been enjoying playing with AI, to an extent... but they felt a bit too aggressive. I was looking for AI mod to make them less aggressive and more racey, and all I found is mod by Bot_14 (here's the link: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1851034152), which is quite outdated. I took it as a base, but all tweaks are my own. It should alter all available AI car behaviors just a bit.

Now, I'm not really sure it works, but it definitely doesn't break anything or make things worse. Mod itself is pretty simple edit. It's fully compatible with stuff like AI_Sets mod and even with TheVeryEnds' S class he has in his mod. It only alters specific AI behavior and nothing else.

Please, if you guys could test it and tell me how it works for you, it would be great. I can only rely on short testing I did myself. Maybe I can improve it somehow. But to me it feels like AI doesn't go out of its way to kill you anymore and significantly less aggressive towards player and each other. My intent wasn't to make full clean racing AI, but one that is more into winning race other than banging. A bit like good balance between the two.

Of course it won't work in tourneys or multiplayer.

Description:
Reduces aggressiveness of AI to each other and to player. Makes AI cars race cleaner and win races instead of trying to kill each other and player.

No problem thanks, yes unfortunately it has to be done a much more time consuming way now, many of my mods are obsolete now, but I keep them up for the memory lol

Thank for the heads up Vin and reviving the mod. This mod here is officially obsolete now, I guess. xD

Can anyone else confirm that this mod still works? When I use it, I honestly can't tell if there's a difference in the AI's behavior. I do 90% of my racing on vanilla tracks, and TVTP1/2 tracks, if that info helps anything.

Another reason I think it isn't allowing editing of the .aicr is that I changed it so all three of them are only set to use custom .vepa and skin files and none of the AI are using them, just the standard default skins. Which makes me think that all of the encrypted AI files have precedence over the modded files.

I'm not even sure if editing the .aicr works since it is also encrypted with the .vaip files. We might at this point be completely locked out of editing existing cars AI and are only able to create new AI for cars that are not in the game already. The reason I'm leaning towards this is due to myself having car engine mods up that I was locked out of and once the files were encrypted just like the AI files, modding them was no longer possible.

Yeah, no way to change default.vaip.

The only way to do things is to edit the .aicr files for each car so they point to some other edited .vaip

Interesting find! But that would mean, even if we make custom profiles and make AI use them, they won't override default .vaip's, and will maybe only add to them?...
