No problem thanks, yes unfortunately it has to be done a much more time consuming way now, many of my mods are obsolete now, but I keep them up for the memory lol

Can anyone else confirm that this mod still works? When I use it, I honestly can't tell if there's a difference in the AI's behavior. I do 90% of my racing on vanilla tracks, and TVTP1/2 tracks, if that info helps anything.

Another reason I think it isn't allowing editing of the .aicr is that I changed it so all three of them are only set to use custom .vepa and skin files and none of the AI are using them, just the standard default skins. Which makes me think that all of the encrypted AI files have precedence over the modded files.

I'm not even sure if editing the .aicr works since it is also encrypted with the .vaip files. We might at this point be completely locked out of editing existing cars AI and are only able to create new AI for cars that are not in the game already. The reason I'm leaning towards this is due to myself having car engine mods up that I was locked out of and once the files were encrypted just like the AI files, modding them was no longer possible.

Yeah, no way to change default.vaip.

The only way to do things is to edit the .aicr files for each car so they point to some other edited .vaip

Interesting find! But that would mean, even if we make custom profiles and make AI use them, they won't override default .vaip's, and will maybe only add to them?...

I just figured out why some of the AI mods stopped working. We can't replace existing AI profile files now (.vaip). We can make new ones if we give them a new name and then make the AI use the new names but we can't modify default.vaip, drifter.vaip, and latebreaker.vaip.

We can't even overwrite our own custom ones with a second mod. The one at the top of the modlist wins. Sort of the opposite of the normal way to mod.

AI files will definitely not apply to any Spicy Banger cars, plus AI simply can't drive on some modded tracks. Mod mostly tones down AI aggression towards player and each other.

Hello, I had tried running this yesterday, but it didnt seem to work; that said i had tried it on mods (spicy bangers with the Farmlands tracks from the Very Track Pack 1), so idk if that was the cause for the AI dying and crashing itself out almost everywhere

Much better! There still some aggressive AIs, but it only 1 or 2 AIs instead of half of the grid. :steamthumbsup:

I can relate to this! Especially in tight ovals, Figure 8s, and BoneBreaker, it seems like EVERYONE tries to ram me into another car, especially in the last lap.
It's so freaking annoying.

To clarify, there are 3 AI archetypes in-game: default, drifter and latebreaker. I tuned default and drifter to be more "clean" (drifter can be rather pushy at corners though) but left latebreaker to be rather aggressive. Technically these AI patterns should be taken randomly by cars, but I don't think it works like that. I notice that some cars are always more aggressive than others, which means certain bot cars have preset choice of these AI types. Nothing I can do about this, though...

I just ran a 60 lap race at the Bloomfield oval. I didnt notice much of a difference. I was still having cars turn right at me if i was on the outside of them. Not all of them but alot of them. I think some cars are programmed to do that more than others so this might take recoding each individual AI
