Campaign Recruitable Mercenary Units

Mercenary Units are now recruitable in the campaign, different buildings like markets, ports and blacksmith now make certain mercanary units available for recruitment.
Barbarians can now also build stone walls.

(Compatible with Mundus Magnus Mod, ignore any warning saying it isn't.. it works)


Note: in custom battles (including multiplayer), all mercenary units will be available (side effect of this mod, consider it a feature :) )

Prices for mercenaries bought either through a General or in a Custom Battle have not been changed.

To recruit the following mercanaries, see the list below (it includes the building required and cost for the unit)

Trader: Numidian Javelinmen - 250
Market: Mercenary Peltast - 400
Forum: Illyrian Mercenaries - 600
Great Forum: Numidian Cavalry - 750
Curia: Sarmatian Mercenaries - 1000

Blacksmith: Thracian Mercenaries - 500
Smith Workshop: Mercanary Hoplites - 800

Port: Cilican Pirates - 750
Shipwright: Spanish Mercenaries - 800
Dockyard: Cretan Archers - 800

Stone Wall: Slingers - 500
Large Stone Wall: Samnite Mercenaries - 750

Hippodrome: Scythian Mercenaries (Horse Archers) - 600
Circus Maximus: Mercenary Elephants - 3000

Hi Blue,

I think this is due to being outdated and based on the Rome Remastered 2.03 update.
Rome Remastered has been on the 2.05 update for a long time and this mod hasn't been updated to reflect those changes.

Either way, just go with this workshop item instead, my mod's have come a long way since then :)

This MOD seems to have changed the data of some units, for example, the morale of the Numidian legionaries was changed from 8 back to 4.

I understand and, of course, going to check these mods, yet I'm feeling hopeful you can fix this issue. It says: Script Error in Q:\Feral\Steam\Workshop\2557000555/data/export_descr_unit.txt, at line 2280, column 85. Major world events are
user-defined now! 'general_unit upgrade' should be changed
to 'generat_unit_upgrade "marian_reforms"'!

Yes, this mod has been abandoned and discontinued.

Man, this mod crashes the game. I know I'm writing to, probably, abandoned mod, but I'm in sorrrow I can't play it. zaaaaaaaaamn

The basic idea of this mod (recruitable units from buildings) is incorporated in Rome Rerostered, however different units (some of the listed mercenaries in this mod, but also other and new units) will be available to different factions, and different building requirements will unlock these units.

Multiplayer wise you will have access to all mercenary units, including some new units as well.

I'd say install Rome Rerostered over this mod, unless you find those changes too overwhelming, than this one would be more for you.

They are however not compatible with each other, so you will have to choose :)

No, Total Conquest is incompatible with this mod (since both mods have edited the same files).

Have you checked out my latest mod as well? (it's also not compatible with Total Conquest, but it's quite an overhaul, and it is compatible with Mundus Magnus, just like this mod is):
