VCE Simple Cheese

Description
Simplifies Vanilla Cooking Expanded's cheese by removing quality from it.
Now cheese will only come in one quality.

---

Description
I know cheese comes in many different qualities in real life, but in RimWorld having different cheese qualities just didn't add anything for me. It gave no mood boost when I made the mod - though it does now, causes stacking problems and the time it took to create significant quantities of decent quality cheese required many cheese presses and thereby too much room.
So I decided to make a mod to simplify the process, cheese now is without quality and produces at the time it took to make awful-quality cheese previously.

Overall this started out as more of a personal mod of mine, but maybe others are interested in it as well.

---

Changes
- Quality removed from Vanilla Cooking Expanded related cheese.
- Cheese presses have been adjusted accordingly.
- Time to produce cheese is now the time it took to produce "awful"-quality cheese.
- The cheese press has been reduced in size from 2x1 to 1x1.

---

Compatibility
Should be compatible with mods that add additional cheese recipes to Vanilla Cooking Expanded's cheese press, no promises though.

Please report any issues.

Indeed! What I meant by "instead of overwriting," though, was the cheese making process itself. You can add unlimited processes to any VFE Processor, so the thing o do would be to add a new process, inputting milk and outputting Cheese, that only has one option (producing "normal" Cheese at all times with no differences due to stacking).

People have the option not to use this mod if they like quality differences for cheese, I guess? Unless I misunderstand what you meant with the first message. Cheese varieties would've made more sense to me as well.

My main issue with quality-based food products is the amount of clutter it causes. Personally I'm just not that indepth into that part of the game to care for quality - even for wine I would much rather just have one item without quality. If that were an option in the original mod, that'd be great!

Another issue I had was the size of the presses and time needed to make cheese. Thankfully we have the freedom with easy modding that allows us to do whatever we want with our game!
I usually run a custom mod where I throw in all kinds of small personal changes - a few of them I released as full mods for others to use

Adding quality to Wine made sense to me, but not to cheese. For cheese, you'd think it would be varieties that would give different benefit.

Instead of overwriting the original one, why not add this as an alternate one in order to give people the option?

GL with your RW life ! Hope you come back some day later.

I haven't played RimWorld in like 2-3 years. When I pick it up again, I will surely make mods for things that annoy me. Currently, though, while I keep my existing mods up to date as best as possible, there won't be any new mods from me.

Of course, you can try and make a mod for it yourself. I haven't looked into anything soy sauce related, not even sure which mod adds that, so I can't tell how difficult it is to implement, but it would likely require similar changes as this Cheese mod applies

HOW ABOUT SOY-SAUCE version of this mod
You have to try some sushi. Great food. I Like it and it like me

Nah, not adding settings to this mod, it'd be a lot of work for something this small.
Feel free to look through the files though and use them to make your own version to your liking!
