Bracing Charge Defense Passive

Description
This is a mini-mod to make bracing more responsive.


The good, bracing abilities works accelerating your troops after the impact and removing some acceleration from the enemy. No speed is added only responsiveness to the charge defender so the braced defender can make some attacks in return.


The bad, this ability should only apply when braced and not moving, however charging does not count as moving. Bazinga! Would be happier if the ability didn't activate on the charge defender charging. CA could produce the correct deactivation, so it's worth testing the bracing interaction.

It's all in the mod files. If you are using RPFM, use (rightclick), Add..., Add_from_PackFile, and find this mod (look for ui. it's the only file path in the ui folder of this mod)

I generally count charging as moving in my vernacular.

Yes, I addressed that above. This mod is only good for testing. There is no charging state to disable the ability, but as you point out there is a not-charging state disable which is used to activate abilities on the charge, so CA could produce the correct deactivating condition 'unit is charging' for the abilities_deactivation_table OR they could update the ability deaction 'moving'. Would be nice.

What I meant is that your mod doesn't included the charging state as a Disable condition :). Maybe it's possible to include it.

Acceleration and Deceleration modifiers are pretty rare. I think CA added only a few abilities which modify these stats pretty recently. Pump Wagons provide some extra speed and knock back, so shouldn't be too big of an issue.

Interesting. There are in-game abilities which are enabled/disabled based on charging state like the ones which Pump Wagons have. Maybe check them to improve Disable conditions?
