P-72 Archimedes

Description
This is an approximation of the Kruger P72 Archimedes [Star Citizen] meant to fit a 5x5 hangar floor plan. Without the wing mounted guns, it will easily fit into a 3x5 space.

Vanilla. No mods. No scripts. No thruster damage.

The fine lines and curves of the P52 Merlin and P72 Archimedes are impossible to reproduce in SE, but I believe this effectively captures the spirit of ship. If you agree please leave a 👍

The P72 Archimedes features modified wingtip geometry and Cargo Hatch strut, interior detailing, and an additional pair of auxiliary thrusters, which noticably improve acceleration in comparison to its (already speedy) counterpart.

The P72 Archimedes is fully loaded; batteries charged, tanks topped off, and magazine full. I elected not to stock the cargo hatch in consideration for personal taste and player needs. Feel free to remove the small cargo containers from the storage hatch for weight reduction or to make room for your preffered equipment.

To help manage hydrogen consumption, there are separate controls for operating in atmosphere vs space:
[1] Atmosphere
[2] Space
Make sure to turn all thrusters off before switching controls, or the thruster groups tend to get mixed up.

This aircraft is intended to fly with the reverse thruster turned off. Turn it on when you start thinking about landing.

[9] is for admin stuff, like hydrogen tank and battery management. This is where you want to be when taking on fuel. You can also find the cargo hatch control there (4).

This is equipped with an advanced version of my hinged landing gear. When you retract or deploy the landing gear the wings will reposition accordingly. There is alot of torque on the wing hinges, so be prepared for a 10° pitch up as they snap down. (6) locks/unlocks the magnetic plate on the front landing strut.

There are 14 hydrogen tanks on board, so flight time is not terrible in atmosphere. It does just fine in space.

You won't find a bulky connector block on any of my aircraft. There is a hinge part on the left main thruster assembly where you can charge, refuel, and reload. I have some simple service vehicles available, (see pictures) but you may want to come up with your own.

There are 9 hinges on this tiny ship, but the torque-pitch bug is negligable. If you fly with a joystick, you might not even notice it.

It should be possible to build this in survival, with some thoughtful study of the wing geometry, timer blocks, and hinge conditions.

Thnx! I'm glad you like it!
You know what, I really want to make that happen, but I don't "large ship" well.
The largest thing I've done is the Tiburon, but that's a step in the right direction.
I'm hoping to get there. My biggest hurdle is my hatred of connector blocks lol

I love these snub fighters, is docking the Connie in the works ? ;)
