FRAGField 2500 Smart Generator

Description
OVERVIEW

The Fragfield 2500 Smart Generator is the smallest 1-cylinder generator/battery charger that can be. Its automatic engine tuning feature balance power delivery at maximum fuel efficiency. Don’t be fooled by its small size, it packs a lot of punch.

If you need more power, its big brother, the 3500, is here:

**FEATURES**

AUTOMATIC ENGINE MANAGEMENT: The engine will adjust its speed at the lowest possible revolution to sustain the electrical load of the connected equipment. This system was designed for maximum fuel efficiency. If the load applied to the generator is greater than what it can provide, an “overload” mode will be triggered (See the “Operation Modes” section).

ELECTRICAL OUTPUTS: 5 electrical outputs: Two electrical connectors and three equipment’s chargers (small and medium) are available. You can use all the outputs at the same time.

REFUELING port: A fluid hose anchor is also available to refuel the generator. However, to keep its size small, no pump was added to the device. An external pump is needed to push the fuel in.

RUNNING COLD GARANTED: The engine will never run hot, even under tremendous load.

SAFETY: The generator will never die under ANY circumstance, unless it runs out of fuel.

**OPERATIONS**

BUTTON PANEL:

1. ON/OFF switch: Turning the generator on or off. There is no other setup to be done by the user.
2. Mute Alarm: Turn off the audible alarm when the generator is in “overload” mode.

**DISPLAY & OPERATION MODES**

The generator has a simple 32/32 display to provide basic information to the user. The pages can be changed by touching the screen.

[1] Power & Fuel: Display the engine current load and the current fuel level of the tanks.

[2] RPS & Temperature: Display the engine RPS (Rotation per second) and its temperature. The engine is finely tuned
to operate between 5 to 25 RPS.

[3] Battery: Show the internal battery percentage. 3 different symbols can also be seen in this page.
“Arrow up” : The battery is charging; the engine is able to sustains the electrical load of the connected equipment. In this mode, the engine will try to lower its RPS to save fuel until it finds a balance.
“Arrow down” The battery is discharging; the engine will try to raise its RPS to get the necessary speed to sustains the electrical load.
“—“: The battery is at 100% and the engine found a balance to sustains the electrical load.

[4] OVERLOAD: The engine is at maximum power and cannot sustain the electrical load. If the user does not disconnect devices, the connected equipment could suffer from power insufficiency. Internal buffer batteries inside the generator will provide power to help out the engine while in “overload” mode. The percentage displayed in this page is the power left in those batteries. When the batteries are empty, even less power will be provided to the connected equipment.

**USAGE**

1. Turn on the generator with the main switch.

2. Connect your devices to one of the 5 outputs.

3. Enjoy

**NOTE ON BATTERY CHARGING**

The generator was designed to recharge empty batteries connected to the power output at the fastest possible speed. However, this cause quite a load on the generator, who will commonly fall in “Overload” mode. When it happens, simply mute the alarm and let it do its thing. It will charge the batteries eventually. If you intend to charge medium batteries, it is recommended to use an external fuel tank as the engine consumption will be rather high.

**NOTE FROM THE CREATOR**

I could have done a “Battery” charging port, which would have slowly recharged batteries without overloading the engine. However, from a gaming perspective, that feature is a bit useless. It would take 30 minutes to charge a small battery and few hours to recharge a medium one. But if there is demand, I will do it by making a small update to the generator.

Version 1.01

- Split the electrical system in two different independent circuit. The charger one, and the connected equipment one.
- Got rid of the FAIL SAFE mode, which is not longer required with the 2 circuits.
- Got rid of the winch.
- Got rid of the magnet connector.
- Better power management.
