FRAGField 3500 Industrial Generator / Charger

Description
OVERVIEW

The Fragfield 3500 Industrial Generator is the big brother of the 2500. Defined as a power monster, the 3500 is a trailered version, carrying two medium generators powered by a strong medium sized modular engine pushing out a whooping 370 units of electricity.

The 3500 shines in recharging and providing power to large machinery. A new “Supercharge” mode has been designed to use a mix of internal buffer batteries and engine power to recharge depleted batteries as quickly as possible.
In this mode, a completely depleted battery will be fully recharged in:

Small battery: 10 seconds
Medium battery: 78 seconds
Large battery: 31 minutes

If you are looking into providing power to smaller equipment, its smaller brother, the 2500, is here:

*** USAGE ***

1. Turn on the “Main System” key.
2. Turn on the “Engine ON/OFF” switch.
3. Connect your devices to one of the 10 outputs.
4. If you are recharging large batteries, you can turn on the “Supercharge” mode to save time at the expense of a higher fuel consumption.
5. Enjoy

*** FEATURES ***

AUTOMATIC ENGINE MANAGEMENT: The engine will adjust its speed at the lowest possible revolution to sustain the electrical load of the connected equipment. This system was designed for maximum fuel efficiency. If the load applied to the generator is greater than what it can provide, an “overload” mode will be triggered (See the “Operation Modes” section).

ELECTRICAL OUTPUTS: 10 electricals’ outputs: Five electrical connectors and five equipment’s chargers (small and medium) are available. You can use all the outputs at the same time.

REFUELING port: A fluid hose anchor is available to refuel the generator.

RUNNING COLD GARANTED: A automatic temperature management system will never let the engine run hot, even under tremendous load.

ADJUSTABLE TRAILER HITCH: The hitch height can be adjusted by the trailer powered piston to accommodate different vehicle type.

*** BUTTONS AND DISPLAYS ***

MAIN BUTTON PANEL

1. “Main System” key.
2. “Engine ON/OFF: switch”: Turn the generator engine on or off. There is no other setup to be done by the user.
3. “Mute Alarm”: Turn off the audible alarm when the generator is in “overload” mode.
4. “Engine Cover”: Opens the engine cover located on the top of the device. The area can be reached by climbing the ladder.

HITCH BUTTON PANEL

“Up arrow”: Raise the trailer hitch.
“Down arrow”: Lower the trailer hitch.
“Work lights”: Turn on the work lights around the device.
“Hitch / Road lights”: Activate the hitch connector and turn on the standard trailer lights. Note that the wheel brakes are automatically turned on when the hitch is not connected to a vehicle.

MAIN DISPLAY

The generator has a simple 64/64 display to provide basic information to the user.
POWER: The engine current load. In normal mode the engine will operate up to 100% load. In “Supercharge” mode, the load can reach 129%.
FUEL: Current fuel level of the tanks.
RPS: Revolution Per Second. In normal mode then engine will operate between 5 to 21 RPS. In “Supercharge” mode, it can reach 27 RPS.
TEMP: Current temperature of the engine.
BATT: Show the internal batteries charge percentage. 3 different symbols can also be seen in this page.

“Arrow up” : Internal batteries are charging. The engine is able to sustains the electrical load of the connected equipment. In this mode, the engine will try to lower its RPS to save fuel until it finds a balance.

“Arrow down” Internal batteries are discharging; the engine will try to raise its RPS to get the necessary speed to sustains the electrical load.

“—“: Internal batteries are fully charged and the engine found a balance to sustains the electrical load.

OUTPUT PANEL

The small monitor displays the electricity power output of both generators.
“Output Circuit Relay “ is the main breaker between the connected equipment and the generator. It must be turned on to provide external power.

*** OPERATION MODES ***

NORMAL MODE (Supercharge OFF)

In this mode, the engine will adjust its speed at the lowest possible revolution to sustain the electrical load of the connected equipment. If you intend to charge a battery at the quickest possible speed, use the “Supercharge” mode. 225 units of electricity are pushed out by the generators in that mode.

SUPERCHARGE MODE

This mode was designed specifically to recharge medium/large batteries as quickly as possible at the expense of fuel. YOU DO NOT NEED to use that mode unless you are under a time constraint. 370 units of electricity are pushed out by the generators in that mode.

OVERLOAD

The generator is at maximum power, has its internal batteries drained to 40% and cannot sustain the electrical load. If the user does not disconnect devices, the connected equipment could suffer from power insufficiency. Internal buffer batteries inside the generator will provide power to help out the engine while in “overload” mode. When the batteries are empty, even less power will be provided to the connected equipment.

COOLING

While in “Supercharge” mode, a safety engine cooling feature will be triggered if the engine reach 100 degrees. The engine will return in Supercharge mode when it will cool down to 90 degrees.

*** NOTE FROM THE CREATOR **

The FRAGField 3500 is an overkill for 90% of the machinery out there. Lights, turrets, radars and machines using small batteries will safely operate with the 2500 model with less fuel consumption. My advice is to try the FRAGField 2500 first. If it does not cut it, then use the 3500. If you have a creation that cannot be supported by the 3500, I want to know about it!!!

The engine cover will sometimes fail to open or close fully. Stormworks physics glitch …

Whats the jeep in the images called?

Well it's not required. The dimension requirements are dumb but the logic is very handy. You just hook up a trailer and go.

No it's not. I was not aware of that standard. I just took a look at it. I will update the trailer to have this standard. Should release it in few days...

Is the trailer SIBTAT logic compatible?
