Features
Ever watched a stellaris space-combat and wondered why some weapon shooting effects (muzzle) are not shooting from the turret locations where you would expect them to?

... While working for my main mod ACG (Aesthetic Cinematic Gameplay) i checked all vanilla graphical turret files (mesh files) and discovered several misplacements of the locators. the range of misplacement is from small (you will only see it if you zoom in very much) to big (you will clearly see it because you don't see any shooting effects coming from the turret or see them at a completely wrong place..).


So i improved and fixed all misplaced locators for turret shooting/muzzle effects that i could find by adjusting the corresponding mesh files.

In total 18 turrets could be fixed or improved from those graphical shipsets: Avian, Fungoid, Humanoid, Lithoid, Nemesis, Pirate, and Reptilian

Compatibility
This mod is an ultra-light weight and therefore super compatible mod that should basically work with almost every other mod on the workshop without causing any problems and as long as the PDX devs don't fix or change those mesh files (which very rarely ever happened in the past years) this mod will basically always work with any future Stellaris version

On a side note: those bugs are nasty because they don't show up in the error log and can only be discovered by either checking the mesh files or checking every turret shooting effect in game first hand. so don't be angry with the devs! however i hope those locator misplacements will sooner or later be fixed by Stellaris PDX devs, meanwhile feel free to use this mod and enjoy more graphically accurate space battles :)

If you are using my Aesthetic Cinematic Gameplay main mod (ACG) then DO NOT use this bug fix mod since it is not compatible with ACG => i already implemented this bug fix into ACG

this mod does not change any ship stats. this mod only includes mesh files which are pure 3D graphic files like stated in the mod description. and it only fixes vanilla bugs. hence i am afraid another mod will be the cause for your problem

FYI, this mod appears to break ship weapon components in the latest Stellaris version, setting their damage to 1 and their ranges to 0.

frankly i am not sure if it was before or not. this was basically only a mod that i have split up from my main mod (ACG) and i assumed it wasn't achievement compatible since all my mods usually aren't achievement compatible. that said it's good to know that it's obviously achievement compatible now. thanks for the information. i will update the mod description shortly

I installed this using Irony Mod Manager and the built-in detector for whether a mod was Achievement Incompatible or not, and the mod manager told me this mod was ok, so I got curious and launched the game with this mod and other Achievement Compatible mods and the game seems to have no issue with it as long as you play on Ironman as usual.

frankly there are many mods on the workshop where one could expect them to be achievement compatible because they don't change any gameplay mechanics but they somehow aren't. this mod only changed graphical mesh files for fixing bugs. i can't tell you why PDX devs decided that those files are potentially incompatible with achievements. i can only provide the information that last time i checked, this mod did not allow for achievements in stellaris when used.

I'm curious, why would this graphics mod be incompatible with achievements? It doesn't appear to impact any game play or balance.
