Breeding Pits Restoration Project

Description
Restores the orc breeding pits cut content to the game.

This contains the altered version of the orc breeding pits that DarkGod produced for version 1.1.4 of the game. IT was later removed entirely in version 1.1.5. This addon exists to re-add that version to the game, to restore late-game balance keep the lore from the orc pits available, as well as the achievement contained therein.

There is an alternate version of this addon elsewhere on steam that holds the original uncut version from 1.1.3 and earlier versions. While this addon is tame enough to not be objectionable, the other version should only be tried at your own risk. You will lose no gameplay experience by using this one instead.

To my knowledge, nothing has broken yet, and it should continue to work correctly. If something does break, I'll fix this to keep it up to date, but there's nothing to update as long as it keeps working.

Does this work fine with the current version of the game?

Unfortunately, Darkgod chose to remove those achievements from steam, they no longer exist here. I'd like to see this reverted. (I'd also like to see him either bring the pits back to maingame where they belong, or replace them with something else that would give the same lore and effect.) I'll speak with him about it, but I dunno if it'll change.

The achievements are still stored in the main game files, and will still show up on your te4.org profile, so they are still 'earned' it just doesn't have a steam version anymore.

I've played through the breeding pit and got the in-game achievement. But the steam achievement didn´t pop up.

Does this mean, that the steam achievement for this dungeon is unobtainable since the removal or can you still get it?

The zone didn't pop up in my game, not sure if it's a random occurence or not, I could show you my savefile if you want

The requested 'Purists' version of this addon is now up as a separate addon on steam. It contains the completely uncut and unaltered version of the orc pits as they existed in 1.1.3 and earlier. This version will continue to contain the version DarkGod produced for 1.1.4 before removing it entirely in 1.1.5. Don't try to turn both addon's simultaneously or the fabric of causality will tear into thousands of pieces.

It seems the addon is not being deleted automatically when unsubscribing.

Thanks for your work on this, Aura. Chalk me up as another person who wants to play the orc pits as they were originally envisioned (1.1.3), without the 'compromise'. The notion of tailoring creative expression around focus group feedback offends me far more deeply than icky descriptions ever could.

For those of us, such as myself, that figure if we are going to commit genocide, we may as well give it 150%. Fear the rare superbaby orcs and thier fearscape. Fetus-scape? :spiffo:

Thank you.

Dunno what you mean with "too much". There is no NEED to go into the orc pits. You don't get a quest. And you are warend at the beginning what you are getting into. If your character wants a genocide, you can get a genocide. And killing babies.
I agree with the change of the neutral babies though, but because it doesn't really seem to make sense that they attack you. If you want to be the asshole who kills them: go on. But they attacking by themselves? Dunno. Thanks for this version, I hope they will return in the future.
