To my knowledge, nothing has broken yet, and it should continue to work correctly. If something does break, I'll fix this to keep it up to date, but there's nothing to update as long as it keeps working.

Does this work fine with the current version of the game?

Unfortunately, Darkgod chose to remove those achievements from steam, they no longer exist here. I'd like to see this reverted. (I'd also like to see him either bring the pits back to maingame where they belong, or replace them with something else that would give the same lore and effect.) I'll speak with him about it, but I dunno if it'll change.

The achievements are still stored in the main game files, and will still show up on your te4.org profile, so they are still 'earned' it just doesn't have a steam version anymore.

I've played through the breeding pit and got the in-game achievement. But the steam achievement didn´t pop up.

Does this mean, that the steam achievement for this dungeon is unobtainable since the removal or can you still get it?

The zone didn't pop up in my game, not sure if it's a random occurence or not, I could show you my savefile if you want

The requested 'Purists' version of this addon is now up as a separate addon on steam. It contains the completely uncut and unaltered version of the orc pits as they existed in 1.1.3 and earlier. This version will continue to contain the version DarkGod produced for 1.1.4 before removing it entirely in 1.1.5. Don't try to turn both addon's simultaneously or the fabric of causality will tear into thousands of pieces.

It seems the addon is not being deleted automatically when unsubscribing.

Thanks for your work on this, Aura. Chalk me up as another person who wants to play the orc pits as they were originally envisioned (1.1.3), without the 'compromise'. The notion of tailoring creative expression around focus group feedback offends me far more deeply than icky descriptions ever could.

For those of us, such as myself, that figure if we are going to commit genocide, we may as well give it 150%. Fear the rare superbaby orcs and thier fearscape. Fetus-scape? :spiffo:

Thank you.

Dunno what you mean with "too much". There is no NEED to go into the orc pits. You don't get a quest. And you are warend at the beginning what you are getting into. If your character wants a genocide, you can get a genocide. And killing babies.
I agree with the change of the neutral babies though, but because it doesn't really seem to make sense that they attack you. If you want to be the asshole who kills them: go on. But they attacking by themselves? Dunno. Thanks for this version, I hope they will return in the future.

I personally am one of those who agreed that the original Orc Pits were too much, but this sounds like a good compromise. Subscribed. =)

Thanks for the pointers.

Best place for that is the IRC channel #tome on Rizon. You'd likely be able to find pelnty of peopple to either help instruct you in basics, or link you to articles that would. And when you get stuck, would then help you get unstuck as well. And of course, the forums at te4.org have some resources to help, as does the wiki.
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:49pm
Ah I see. I downloaded 1.1.4 for nothing then! hehe I was just seeing what format the files were in. Looks like I would have trouble doing it on my own. Out of interest I might look up some how to write mod articles though.
AuraOfDawn  [author] 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:46pm
It was released for real in 1.1.4. It was immediately removed in 1.1.5 less then a day later, due to someone flipping a fit over the phrase 'final solution'. (Wasn't even intentional.) Ergo, the last version with the original breeding pits should be 1.1.3
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:44pm
It was 1.1.5 that they were removed in, so I'm assuming the one you want is 1.1.4 if the 24 hour version you reference was just on the source server and not actually released for real.
AuraOfDawn  [author] 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:41pm
Yep. But I'm lazy and tired, hence tomorrow.
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:33pm
The old versions are all on the web site aren't they?
AuraOfDawn  [author] 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:25pm
Perfectly understandable. I'll see if I can whip this together tomorrow. Just have to find an old copy of the game to pull the info from.
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:21pm
Absolutely. It's not that I particularly WANT that you know, that makes me seem weird, it's just that I hate the fact that it was taken out of the game because a minority of people complained about it. I want the game as Darkgod intended it.
AuraOfDawn  [author] 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:15pm
It shouldn't be too much of a problem... But this means you want the original gaping genitalia covered orc mothers back too?
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:03pm
But if not then still thanks for providing it.
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 11:03pm
If it's possible without too much trouble I would be grateful if you could provide the original version as a separete workshop item.
AuraOfDawn  [author] 3 Jun, 2014 @ 10:56pm
It's an extremely similar version designed to be a compromise to the people who complained. I felt it better to get this version some exposure so there could be proper feedback on it, since it existed in version 1.1.4 for all of LESS then 24 hours. There weren't too many overt changes. The broodmother had the genitalia removed from their description, while keeping the horror (I agree with this change, personally) and the orc babies were made non-hostile (all other orcs, including the toddlers and children still are) because apparently, people think killing monster babies is a Bad Thing. (I don't agree with this change)

DarkGod (I, and many others believe) plans to bring the pits back in some form, later on. If nothing else, the lore in them (which still exists) is crucial to the upcoming Orc Campaign he's making. Feedback on this could deeply help him to provide a better set of pits, even if personally, I'd revert everything but the description change to the broodmother.
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 3 Jun, 2014 @ 10:44pm
Wait what\ so this isn't the original version?
AuraOfDawn  [author] 3 Jun, 2014 @ 9:52pm
The entire complete zone was taken out, leaving us with no way to reduce orc patrols, which dramatically increased the chance that a bad combo of them could screw you lategame. This addon re-enables the altered version of the zone that DarkGod created to try and meet the complaints halfway. And yes, the description on the orc broodmothers was changed.
Lolihegao 3 Jun, 2014 @ 9:23pm
What was taken out? Did they remove the gross Mother things spraying babies out?
MHC 3 Jun, 2014 @ 2:40pm
Thanks! Just like Graspee said it was kinda dumb they cut it.
Pangolin Legends: Arceus 29 May, 2014 @ 1:15am
Thanks. It should never have been taken out.
