Obstruction | Part 2

This is part two of a small series, the harder one, which was originally created for the TWP x Map Labs Chroma competition, but eventually cut from my team's entry because there wasn't enough time left. We wanted to make a stand-alone workshop collab out of it after the contest ended, yet that was also delayed, so I decided to release the basic puzzlemaker version by itself for now.



Easy-medium difficulty. (3 / 10)

About 15 minutes to complete for average players.




This puzzle went through a lot of different phases in the past half year, and eventually turned into what's probably my favourite public workshop map so far.
The main elements used in this puzzle are a laser, a funnel and a laser redirection cube.

This puzzle doesn't require any glitches, ninja moves or similar things to solve it, just an understanding of Portal 2's mechanics and some creativity. If you're doing something that feels weird or unintended, it probably is exactly that.

The use of sightlines in this is really clever. I appreciate the use of the inset laser sensors to prevent cheese.

@SpielSatzFail Thanks a lot! If I ever have another idea close to this concept I will definitely make a part 3. Also, I've made a bunch of similar puzzles for the Portal 2 mod Aperture: Salt Mines, which is still in development at the moment. Once that is done, I'll release a collection with more than 20 puzzles I made for that mod, which are unlisted at the moment, so you can look forward to that! The first one was good, this one is awesome! Thumbs up. Nice portal management map that requires some imagination. Too bad the series doesn't continue :-(

@Leo Yeah, the general theme of this mappack is more blocking lasers with cubes in general , where the first part focuses on the advantages you get out of it and the second part more on the difficulties it causes and how to work around them. Glad you enjoyed it! :p2cube:

Neat little puzzle once more! The predominant theme in Part 1 actually wasn't all that much used in this one, which surprised me a bit. But I enjoyed it nonetheless, good one!

Nice map; a bit more thought required than part 1 but still pretty easy. Very elegant solution. Thumbs up.
