Spell Runes

Description




Welcome to Spell Runes!
This mod adds Spell Runes which let you combine multiple spells into a single spell on a wand.
This comes with some balance issues however such as the fact that it bypasses things like Mana and Limited Cast spells.

Features:
  • Spell Runes which can be combined with spells by throwing them on the ground together.
  • Spell Runes let you cast multiple spells as a single cast
  • Projectile Runes which let you combine multiple spells including modifiers into a single projectile.
  • Modifier Runes which let you combine multiple projectile and modifier spells into a single modifier.
  • You can add spells to runes even after burning a spell into it.
  • Should work with any modded and unmodded spell.

I am also having issues where I can store spells in Runes but the Runes themselves don't cast anything

runes don't work at all. they suck up the spells but can't be used.

I've just had a chance to test this, sadly it seems to cause worsening lag with each rune. The first rune drops me from 60 to ~46, the second drops it to around 33, and a third drops it to 21. I noticed it only started the lag if it drew its spell radius in the world or the spell box UI in the inventory, and even picking them up or closing the inventory didn't fix it, but tossing it into the sell hole mod, deleting the rune, fixed the lag. I don't know if it's a UI draw issue or some odd incompatibility with a mod I have, or maybe even load order contributes.

This one is really cool! Have you considered "balancing" it some by combining the mana/cast delay/recharge time of the spells burned into the rune? Maybe adding a config option to choose between them? Obviously getting around the usual spell limit is still OP, but it would still require you to get better wands and Add Mana, etc.

you should make them compatible with modifiers, multicasts greek letters etc

Runes are spells, you find them like any other spell.

How exactly do you get a rune, does it spawn in your inventory when you start or do you have to find it?
