The Undead: New Playable Race

Description
This Race can only be picked on the creation panel. It cannot be found on any port.


Since update 19/8/2022, spawns as a port visitor! This means that if you use this mod along this one, you will be able to recruit Undeads mid game and on several instances. Remiender that Visitors spawn on Player owned ports.

This simple mods ports the Undead from the base game into a playable race! Now you can be the Ghoulish corpse you didnt knew you wanted to be

Main Race Features:
  • As an Undead, Life Magic harms you. On the opposite, Ruin skills will restore life when they target you.
  • A different XP system: You carry a -50% XP penality, but in combat, when you are attacked you will "drain" xp from you attacker for yourself, the amount scaling with you Ruin skill. This doesnt work outside combat.
  • Special Unarmed Attack, Lifedrain Strike: Damages both the health and the MP of the target with Ruin damage, but is less accurate than the normal one. On combat, succesfull strikes will drain XP and bones from the target.
  • +10 base HP and +2 Ruin Skill. When hit in combat from 12 tiles or less (once per round), you drain MP, bones and HP from the target to regenerate those yourself. This effect refreshes each time you turn starts, and gets consumed while it activates.
  • Like the Vanilla Undead, you have inmunity to some status effects: Morale, Itchy, Decay, Sleep and Poison cannot be inflicted on you
  • At the start of you turn, you regenerate 1 HP per bone at 2 tiles or less from you.
  • You walk anim is adorable <3 Did you saw it?

Know Issues:
- Eye anims on Dialog nodes (when you character express emotions when they have to say something) are very ugly and sometimes you eyes are missplaced or they just dissapear entirly. I tried my best to fix it, but it refused to look properly, at least its just visual.

@Cairnos Formulas for XP are different

For XP, always have in mind the -50% penality applies at the end. Punching stuff grants you x5 you Ruin Skill as XP, multiplied by 0,5 (due to the penality). For XP when being hit, its x10 you Ruin Skill as XP.

@Mafe, the same thing might happen with the exp drain.
Did 2 same fight, with 6 ruin => 4 xp per punch,
With 2 ruin => 8 xp per punch.
though for both case life drain was always 1.
Not sure if you can fix this.

@Cairnos that is odd, it should use half of his Ruin skill for the scaling of that healing. I think I know what happens, probably since Elemental skills also give resistance to said element, it makes him resist his own Healing. But its just a theory.

Heal from the Lifedrain attack doesnt seems to increase.
I have 6 ruin and usualy deal around 16 dmg with one punch but it always heals 1hp.
