Description
Instructions for updating RimTrash to 1.4: There's a modified 'RimTrash.dll' I've included in the base folder - replace the RimTrash.dll in the original RimTrash's 1.2/Assemblies folder with this one and it will work in 1.4!

Save the ocean! Fish trash bags out of the sea. Trash can be sold to special garbage collector traders. Animals can eat trash (and prisoners, if you make them...)

All features:
- (With Vanilla Fishing Expanded) The fishing pool now includes trash bags.
- New trader 'trash collector' buys and sells garbage bags and items from Rimside Recycling, and sells steel slag chunks.
- Trash bags are now ingestible. They will only be eaten by humans in desperation, but are fair game for rodents and raccoons. Of course, eating rubbish will make colonists upset and sick (90% chance of food poisoning). Animals don't mind. Enjoy dumpster diving!
- Trash bags can be melted into cheap plastic at the biofuel refinery with Expanded Materials - Plastics or Plastic Revolution (ratio: 75:10).
- Trash bags can be stored in skips and pallets with Deep Storage.
- Minor translation tweaks and 1.3 patch for RimTrash (updates XML to remove red errors). No further updates needed for 1.4.
- Because this mod updates RimTrash, RimTrash will not trigger a version warning if using Mlie's 'No Version Warning' while it is installed.

To do:
- Further English translation fixes
- Landfill for Deep Storage (?)
- Trash packaged survival meals and kibble
- Trash floor??
- Trash bags produce small amounts of pollution (with Biotech)

How does this work with "useful filth"? Does it create a second item when the filth is converted into the trash bags? Or does one override the other?

ah yes, thanks for letting me know. the cleaning filth into trash bags mechanic in this conflicts with any other mods that affect cleaning, so it's probably that

Just a heads up, this mod (or perhaps rather the mod it is based off of) appears to conflict with Zombieland . Specifically, I believe it is the "contamination" mechanic. With both active, pawns will get stuck cleaning a patch of filth forever and never actually successfully clean it, making cleaning utterly impossible.
I do not know for sure, but it may be possible to use both if the contamination mechanic is disabled in Zombieland's settings. I have not tried it myself.
In any case, it may be a good idea to put a notice in the description as Zombieland is a pretty popular mod from what I can tell. Otherwise, thanks for reviving this cool mod. I will definitely use it on my next playthrough that does not include Zombieland.

Can the plastic parts of the mod be made to be cross-compatible with Rimefeller's plastic? I'd really appreciate that.

I remembered something. Just wanted to make sure you're not using Prepare Carefully - it can mess up saves and the chance that something happens increases the longer you run a save with it. It's well known among people deep into the game, but many people aren't aware

that is so weird, because it would indicate that the actual trash bag code has somehow been deleted from your version, and you're not using cherry picker
