WinterOveride (Winter maps)

Description
Description
This mod swaps in game materials and objects to convert any existing maps to be snow themed. The idea is that GM's can turn winter on and off between sessions to create variety and atmosphere, simply click or unclick the mod before you start a GM session. The mod also contains some new snowing atmospheres which can be found in the 'other' section of atmosphere panel.

Due to the nature of the mod it is not perfect as snow can end up being in caves or other locations which do not make sense but for towns/cities and countryside it works well. I am open to suggestions if you feel something is missing.

Shout out to Luxen for providing many of the assets, effects and materials used in this

Hi Grim, any mod which has GM mode as a dependency will break food unfortunately. It’s a bug in the game.

Not 100% sure as I don’t play story mode anymore but I think any mod disables achievements?

Glad you like it! Yeah I agree, when overriding materials directly there are some unavoidable trade offs.

While the (green) grass is kinda an eyesore (if it was dead grass it'd fit in percently), this mod works pretty well in Story mode.

Caves feels cold and barren, and some areas look great! Thou there are some silly moments like how the Undertaven's floors are covered in snow, but I'm not against it, it just comes off atomspheric to me.

Yeah story mode was a last minute addition, the mod is really meant for GM mode. That would require me overriding all atmospheres which would reduce the options for Game masters in GM mode, which I want to avoid. If anyone wants to do this themselves using this mod as a dependency I would be happy to help but I have no plans to do it myself as I don't play story mode anymore.
