Description
Alternative Romans?
I was never a fan of feral's non historical roman troop textures (sorry Feral), so I decided to make alternate semi(ish)-historical re-textures with different shield variations and other.

Disclaimer
I cannot make new models to save my life, though what I can do somewhat decently is make re-textures while people more skilled and willing than me creates their own mods. Now saying that, please do not moan to me that they are not fully historical, I know.

IMPORTANT:
My core mod listed here is required, as well as having 'Unit Variations' ticked and colour scheme set to 'Realistic' in the graphic settings. If you fail to do so, this mod will simply not work properly.

I do have another version of this mod in the works.
THIS MOD WILL BE REMOVED SOON! IT IS SAFE TO CONTINUE SAVES WITHOUT THIS MOD!

@Cornelius Noctua Hi, I just checked the mod and by the looks of it, it would not be compatible as it modifies the same files. Though, you could load the mods up and see if it works.

Love the changes. I think it would be better though to change the Principes mail to some Lorica Hamata looking mail with the extra reinforced bits over the shoulders.
Also, the Equites were also supposed to be the wealthy elite of Rome so they would most likely have the most expensive gear possible, bronze breastplates and plumed helmets etc. If possible that would be a cool change. As I say great changes overall.

you might be able to compress the textures with lz4 to maybe reduce file size by 75%.
(as in, using the same compression as feral used to ship the textures)
