Xeph Zombie Modifications [Official]

Description


This mod will make every zombie unique and change its stats such as speed, hearing, vision, toughness, etc. There will be predefined types including: Walkers, Infected, Stalkers, Brutes (see discussions)


Please note the modifications will work without mod options, but you will be stuck with my default configuration. You can currently modify which types of zombies will appear as well as their weights. Including various other options if using Mod Options.

  • Unique appearances
  • Zombie Templates

Known Bugs
  • Zombies occationally change movement animation (most likely won't even notice)
  • Upon arriving at a new location zombies might need some time to update (usually only on spawn)



Q&A

Q: Will this mod work with multiplayer?
A: The mod is currently only stable in singleplayer

Q: Will this work with version example?
A: This should work with zomboid v4.60+, but has only been tested on v4.65

Q: How do I change the mod configuration?
A: Check your settings under the "Mods" tab, if its not there ensure you have this mod and its dependencies loaded.

Q: Can I use this mod without Mod Options?
A: Yes, It will work fine standalone, but you will lose the ability to customise the mod.

Q: Can I add this mod during a save?
A: Yes it is safe to add and remove, Just remember to backup before changing mods.

Even with the visual bugs, this is still the best zombie randomizer mod out there

I noticed zombies tend to change type in the middle when you meet them, its spooky as hell when they suddenly start running at you. But else it's highly immersive, also brutes instagib player built structures even if structure damage is off.

anyway if found that i can open XephZombieModifications.lua with Sublime Text and change every aspect of their behavior. Thanks for the great mod!

so a big REQUEST if it's possible: The settings for types of zombie - for example I want to tweak "stalker" settings. Right now they only can have Eagle Sight but i want to change it to normal-poor, same for other stats. Can't find a way to manually edit this.
Your mod is fucking great i just wish it could let me tweak this settings to fit my playstyle

had a crawler open a door. Am using night zombies setting, does this interfere? It's a cloudy 14:00 day

have nightmares set to skeletons. Just found a crawling skeleton without me having caused it

imo nightmares and stalkers shouldn't die in a single boot stomp, maybe give them a bit of extra hp?
