Saph's Pangaea Proxima: Future Earth (TSL)
Pangaea Proxima is Prof. Christopher Scotese's hypothesis of what Earth would look like 250 million years in the future[www.nationalgeographic.com]. The continents of our current Earth would have collided to form a supercontinent, encircled by a global ocean. It would be a hothouse world featuring extreme climates and spectacular mountain ranges.

Design Features
  • The violent collisions of the continents produce sweeping mountain ranges, which serve to give definition to boundaries between the merged continents and also add strategic/tactical complexity.
  • True start locations (TSL) for all 50 official civilizations and city states are included. (Not all will spawn in one game since some of them have overlapping TSL.)
  • 30 natural wonders are included and placed on their TSL. (You may disable some/all of the natural wonders during game set-up if you don't want so many on your map.)
  • This YnAMP-based map has map-generated river floodplains, so dam construction and flooding events are possible.

Details
Map size: 96 x 72 (Huge)

Recommended number of civs: 12-16 Civs (The map itself does not limit the number of civs or city states you can have, so feel free to have as many or as few as you like!)

Additional note on civ selection: Europe & the Middle East has a very small area on this map, so if you choose too many civs in the region, not all of them would spawn. It is recommended that if you want specific civs in your game, you choose only those that do not spawn too close together: e.g. To get Wilhemina to spawn, don't choose Frederick / Ambiorix / Victoria. You may refer to the True Starting Locations screenshots above.

Required Mod: Gedemon's Yet (not) Another Maps Pack

Recommended Mods:
  • Religion Expanded: This adds enough beliefs to vanilla's 20 so that you won't get locked if you are playing with more than 20 civs but haven't chosen a belief.
  • Tomatekh's Historical Religions: This allows a maximum of 16 religions (instead of 12) when you have Gathering Storm.
  • Prismatic - Color and Jersey Overhaul: This adds enough jersey colors so that you can play with more than 20 civs in one game. Otherwise some civs will get transparent colors.

Game Set-up
To play with advanced YnAMP settings, you need to
  1. Have this mod and Yet (not) Another Map Pack installed and enabled ingame
  2. Single Player --> Create Game --> Load Database (next to the BACK button) and wait for the game to load
  3. Once loaded, you will be back to the main menu
  4. Single Player --> Create Game (You should see a tick next to CREATE GAME at the top.) --> Choose Map Type --> Saph's Pangaea Proxima: Future Earth --> Advanced Setup

Recommended Settings
  1. Adjust the number of civs, city states & religions in the game to your liking.
  2. Manually pick the civs to play as/against or leave them random.
  3. Select Natural Wonders: Leave it at Everything / Uncheck the ones that you don't want to appear
  4. Rivers Placement: Choose Import for pre-placed rivers / Map Generator for randomised rivers
  5. Features Placement: Import for pre-placed woods & marshes / Map Generator for randomised woods, marshes, jungles & reefs
  6. Coastal Lowland: Choose Map Generator for random placement / Matching flatlands for more dramatic flooding / Empty for no lowlands
  7. Rivers Flooding: Choose Map Generator / Empty for no floodplains & flooding (and hence no dams)
  8. Resource Quantity: Your own preference (Resources are map-generated; this map does not contain pre-placed resources.)
  9. Civilization Placement: Choose True Starting Locations for accurate historical placement / Map Generator for random placement
  10. Enforce TSL: Off (some civs / city states have TSL that are close to each other; allowing the AI to stray from their TSL may give them a higher chance of survival)
  11. Use Leaders TSL when available & Use Alternative TSL if required and available: On
  12. Allow random placement for civs without TSL: Off

Special Thanks
The creation of this Civ 6 map would not have been possible without Gedemon's YnAMP and Zobtzler's YnABMC and their posts on the Civfanatics forum.

@Alex the Great: Try turning on "Allow random placement for civs without TSL" during set-up?

I really want to try this map out but for some reason, whenever I load into the map, I dont see my settler, just the empty spot that you load into. Has anyone else experienced this?

You have amazing mapping skills! Thank you for your work. Could you please create a TSL real world map? I am sure yours will be the greatest! Thank you.
