Crash Course

Description
(MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE REQUIRED RESOURCES! ...OTHERWISE BIG BANG!)

Yes, it was bound to happen. Fully remastered and filled with brand new content!

Crash Course is a survival map that had previous iterations (most notably SS3 and SS:Fusion), originally under the names "The Last Chance" and "Crashed Course".

The original SS3 map was semi-broke and didn't work if you didn't get a specific custom map downloaded separately. The actual map was a joint effort by me and Rakanishu. And due to the fact that Rakanishu had uploaded the original map, I was not able to update the map directly as I didn't have the permissions. So, I've had to re-release the map under a different name to circumvent that.

SS4 really lacks in some of the more urban environments. That gave me some motivation to port some oldies but goldies!

Features:
  • Fully randomized voice-lines! Sam reacts to the environment around him. (Solo only. Can be disabled in Game Options/Sound Options.)
  • Random music. Additional custom music included! Music is also slightly more dynamic depending on what music plays.
  • SS3 Environment with SS4 gameplay mechanics!
  • Hundreds of assets ported from SS3. All fully functional, with destructions and props.
  • Fully reworked graphics. All whilst taking advantage of the new SS4 technology!
  • Multiple waves to battle. All carefully balanced. Co-Op friendly!
  • Plenty of secrets to be found!
  • Brand new balancing. New and old enemies. NO SPOILERS!
  • Enhanced soundscape.

Now, enough snooping! Wanna know more? Go and find out!

There will be an update coming at some point dealing with enemies getting stuck and easily exploitable areas getting patched up (to the best of my ability anyways), so I do apologise if those issues come in the way of playing the map.

I can't give an ETA since I'm taking a very short hiatus from making updates for maps. Focus is on ECF and EBR since I've been trying to polish them up to a good standard.

I dream of a day when SS3 will be ported over to SS4 (but with better design choices and cutscenes)

Right at home with the Serious Sam 4 cast of weapons and enemies.

Yeah, I used the term "broke" pretty loosely. Problem was a dependency on a separate custom map (due to using particles from it) that was not shown on the workshop page.

By the time I've found out which map was causing the problem I was several years late. It does work now if you have all the "resources" activated. :steamhappy:

Original non-steam 2012 version of og ss3 map works fine on latest og ss3 version. But good job on porting it to newer engine anway.

Yeah, the SS3 environment works really well in SS4 ironically enough.
