Description
Update December 14, 2024: Prototech jumpdrive and gyros integrated. Jump range doubled to 2000km. Removed the no longer used Custom turret Controllers. Updated the hangar floor numbering to inset LCDs just like the new Titan.

Based on the Cerberus Mk. III by JD Horx: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=821631995

Equipped with new Warfare 2 weapons.

The Cerberus-class has long been the core of the IMDC fleet. While the fundamental design of the Cerberus Mk. III remained sound, its age was beginning to show. Newer designs offered greater crew comfort, longer jump range, and greater firepower. With the advent of newer weapons and the escalation of conflict, it immediately became clear something had to be done. IMDC shipyards began recalling active Mark III ships as quickly as they could be spared for a major refit.

The Mark IV refit of the Cerberus substantially changed many aspects of the ship. Additional exterior plating was added, along with extra weapons hardpoints. While the core hull and the overall styling remained the same, the ship wound up looking externally more like its older sibling the Mark II. The interior saw even more work. Life on smaller ships is always a bit cramped, but applying modern design principles allows for a more comfortable living arrangement and reduced crew fatigue. The redesign also saw the latest in medical technology come onboard, with a much more capable medical bay able to handle multiple casualties.

More importantly to its long-term mission, however, were the upgrades made to its combat capability and mobility. A handful of Gatling turrets were retained as point-defense against missiles and agile fighters, but the bulk of the weapons package was completely replaced. The eight forward missile launchers were replaced with four massive railguns, capable of punching clean through lightly-armored opponents. Remaining missile weapons were largely supplanted with newly-developed artillery turrets and fixed guns, and Assault Cannons filled out the bulk of the remainder. In order to ensure it could be where it was needed, additional Jump Drives and a Prototech jumpdrive were fitted, quadrupling the distance that could be covered in a single jump. During the redesign, a number of previously-undetected armoring weaknesses were also found and addressed.

While it may be years until IMDC shipyards develop a completely new hull to replace both the Mark III and IV, IMDC crews can remain confident they still have the most capable ships around.

Out-of-character: Basically, this is a MAJOR rebuild of the Mk. III, both making its lines more reminiscent of the Mk. II and bringing it up to date with newer IMDC projects. It has design features inspired by the new Europa Mk. II and other newer IMDC projects. It's not a Mk. III anymore because, aside from the dark grey heavy armor hull, everything has been upgraded in a dramatic fashion while remaining true to the original theme and internal layout. Every room has been gutted and redone except the hangar, and even it received significant upgrades.

Note: the ship has an inventory management script called OmniScript. By default, its programmable block is turned off to save on performance. It should be considered a sanity-saving utility when loading cargo, as it will automatically pull stuff from connectors and distribute them to any container they will fit in.

I got another update coming soon. I fit another Prototech Jumpdrive into it. It lost the large cargo container, but I put a bunch more small ones in and a script to automatically distribute cargo.

Prototech integrated. I got 1 Prototech jump drive (doubling the jump range again) and full Prototech gyros, as well as many other updates.

Absolutely wonderful design, I can even say modular, because after I installed the Assault Weapons pack this thing is bristling with heavy weaponry

All right, I'm back to SE. I was away longer than expected. Minor update for the Cerberus coming soon. I found a place to put a few more small reactors, so I replaced one of the two large reactors with a large cargo container, fixing the lack of cargo space with this rebuild. Made some minor changes to the hangar as well; the two assemblers lose the speed modules, but you gain two additional assemblers for a total of four.

Thanks a ton, I’d really appreciate it. Also ships as big as the Titan work fine on console.

Yeah, give me a few days, though.

Plus you could post the smaller IMDC ships on mod.io such as the Cerberus

It can support ships this big. Console has a max PCU limit (Xbox series x and ps5) of 500k
WardenWolf  [author] 2 Nov, 2023 @ 9:03pm
Consoles can't support ships this big, sadly. I didn't give him permission to post that.
