Have you ever thought it was odd that a tribe of Sunni Nomads could conquer the Middle Kingdom, and they'd leave no lasting impact on the religious makeup of China- even if they ruled for 200 years? Surprised that a Crusader Kingdom which stretches beyond the Tarim Basin can't even attempt to preach in the far east? Been upset that the silk road, which has historically served as a pathway for religions to enter China, is useful for money & tech but little else?

Chinese Caliphates addresses all of this & more, with systems to model the spread- peaceful or otherwise- of religion in the Middle Kingdom. Watch the eastern emperors struggle to contain the spread of foreign religions, or, in rare cases, embrace them & actively spread their new faith in their realm. If all else fails, they can always use the hammer of persecution- they'd be wise to be careful, though, as if these religious communities become too large, they can put up quite a fight.
