Long Brutal Planet Invasion

Description
This mod sets off to make two big changes to the planet invasions:

1) Longer
it's somewhat annoying and lackluster that invasions with 30+ armies vs 30+ armies only last a few months let alone the smaller invasion being often in the weeks. What I have done is massively buffed the health of every army in the game this is done via the Narmy and NGameplay so it will work with mods such as "AlphaMod: Invasion!" that add in units as well as events that spawn units such as those in the "More Events Mod".

With some testing I've found that a 12 vs 8 invasion lasts around 5 to 7 years since a lot of the damage dealt is RNG it's hard to get a solid number but this means that either you the player have more time to respond but also the AI meaning that there is a lot of fluidity with planet invasion with more time to deploy reinforcements.

2) Brutal
Having two empires fighting it out on a planet should leave devastating damage to said planet and not be fixed in only a couple of months with maybe a year thrown it, just look with ww2 where to this day we still finding bombs in Europe over 80 years later.

So I have buffed the damage done to the planets by the armies fighting and increased how long it takes for planets to repair the damage done. Using the same number 12 vs 8 the planet will reach 100% devastation within a couple of years and will begin to seriously harm the population on the planet as the fighting drags on.

Using my test of 12 vs 8 on a 40 pop planet by the time fight was over between 20 to 30 pops where left alive which would mean that on avg 1 to 3 pops a year would die but unfortunately as stated before it's hard to get a solid number due to how RNG it is.

After the fighting is done it comes to repairing the damage done, this is a slow and long process with a planet being fully 100% devastated will take years to repair.

So it's best to win quickly is you don't want to spend years repairing the planet.

Editing

Everything is done in one txt file so editing it will be easy in just notepad. If you feel as if invasions are too long or short then simply edit to the point you like and no need to worry about needing to restart a game as it will be reapplied upon loading you save.

Incase you want the settings that I have here is the default.

NArmy = {

BASE_HEALTH = 25000
BASE_MORALE = 25000
ARMY_EXP_GAIN_DAMAGE_DEALT = 0.4
ARMY_EXP_GAIN_DAMAGE_TAKEN = 0.4
}

NGameplay = {

COLLATERAL_DAMAGE_CHANCE = 10
COLLATERAL_DAMAGE_BASE_SCALE = 0.02
COLLATERAL_DAMAGE_KILL_POP_CHANCE = 0.07

PLANET_HEALTH_MAX = 250
PLANET_HEALTH_REGEN_DELAY = 200
PLANET_HEALTH_REGEN = 0.03
}

Little Note here for ease of use.

Edit base health and moral for longer/shorter battles and COLLATERAL + Planet for more/less devastation .

Congrats! They will make some change about ground battle!

This mod is pretty good but I think you should add a modifier or some such debuff to primative civilization armies. A Steam Age Civilization is able to hold off my armies for a unrealistically long time lol

If your dumb like me here is the file location:
programfiles-->Steam-->steamapps-->workshop--->content--->281990--->2751959677--->common->defines

also found 25000 to be a bit much will try 2500 thanks for the mod!
this mod will probably work indefinetly unless paradox overhauls ground combat so the "outdated" version can be ignored

Is it possible for you to update this?

Star Genral, had a pretty good ground invasion element. Had Ground and Air Units. You could reinforce your invasion or reinforce your planetary defense forces, depending on if your were invading or defending, after so many ground turns. It would be great to have that along with a option to auto resolve ground invasions..

This sounds awesome. I want to use it. But I am afraid. Might have to give it a go!

On a similar note, the old Space Empires used to have a slightly better ground assault mini game. You could actually set tactics and to some degree control unit movement. Wouldn't that be awesome for Stellaris?
