Description
Update December 14, 2024: Full Prototech integration! Everything except the assembler and drill are implemented in some form, to great effect. It now has a 3000km jump range! Also made the conveyors more robust on the sponsons.

Total overhaul of JD Horx's classic IMDC Titan Cruiser, including an updated interior and upgraded weapons systems.

Lore:

With the discovery of more distant worlds and the escalation of conflict came a need for the IMDC to modernize their fleet. While still technically sound, their older designs had started to lag behind in terms of crew comfort and mobility. Furthermore, the recent development of new weapons systems put them at risk of being outgunned. IMDC shipyards thus began a crash course to refit their existing ships and bring them up to modern standards.

The refit found the original 8 forward rocket launchers traded for 8 massive railguns. While this necessitated the removal of the original forward control room, control was transferred to the revamped CIC. Most weapons were upgraded to newer systems, save for a handful of Gatlings retained for point-defense. Furthermore, entirely new weapons stations were created, making these ships much more heavily armed than before.

The new emphasis on long-range missions meant crew comfort became a priority. The new crew quarters now feature four beds along with an in-suite bathroom and shower. A full-service mess hall was also created. Additional berthing spaces, primarily for visiting ship crews, were integrated into the forward refinery area. When the first refit Titan-class cruisers left the shipyards a few months later, they were practically brand new ships, built on the bones of old.

Updated with Prototech! Decided to keep just one version.

Nice

I've got a full Prototech refit in the works, though it will be a separate upload. I figured out how get a full set of 3 Prototech thrusters and still have the reactor room look nice, but now I have to relocate and redo a number of the timer blocks, which are core to so many of the cool features of this ship. You'll also get a 3000km jump range out of the deal, which is just obscene. There is, as always, a sacrifice, and in this case it comes in the way of armor because there's not enough room for armor behind those huge thrusters and I also had to reroute the small hydrogen ones. But I imagine those huge things take a LOT to destroy.

Agreed. My refits would be mostly relating to redundancy, armour, structural integrity (like adding a central armoured spine or framework), etc while keeping the interior.

Are they posted on mod.io?

One rule I always have during these refits: respect the spirit and intent of the original design. The overall design and purpose should stay true to the original and, if a room was used for one thing in JD Horx's original, it should keep that same purpose unless it just doesn't work or it's a duplicate and the design is missing something else (the second medbay here became the mess hall). Obviously, extreme updates like this are interpretive to some degree, but both historical and newer works are used to influence how things are done.

Thanks a ton

I plan to post most of this stuff to mod.io in the near future.

Would it be possible to get this on mod . io? As I think I’d like to try my own modifications to the Titan-class hull.

Update coming soon. Expect various enhancements, including nearly doubled jump range courtesy of the new Prototech Jump Drives. It WILL require the previous DLC, though, if not the newest one; the corridor and bay window blocks came in useful.

I don't have the DLC for this, think we can get a non DLC one? Please?
