Description
Adds a new set of governments between medieval and modern tiers and makes older governments more viable to keep by changing Wildcard slot progression.

While the new governments from JFD's Rule with Faith do the job fine, many people have reported issues since that mod series is no longer updated. This mod right here is not quite as polished (no custom Moments added, for example), it is meant to be the next-best thing to fill the gap in the Industrial era. However, it also comes with some unique changes on its own.

This mod is part of Project 6T and requires "Grand Eras", which adds new civics made specifically for these new governments!

Features
  • 3 new Governments as the new government tier 3 (for a total of 5 tiers) added to the Industrial Era.
  • All eras without a government tier now unlock additional policy slots, marked with icons in the civics tree.
  • Ancient Era: Wildcard slot at Consecration.
  • Post-Classical Era: Wildcard slot at Citizenship.
  • Renaissance Era: Wildcard slot at Humanism.
  • Modern Era: Wildcard slot at Mass Media.
  • Information Era: Military slot at Rapid Deployment.
  • Information Era: Economic slot at Globalization.
  • Information Era: Diplomatic slot at Space Race.
  • Rebalanced slots of all existing governments. All governments but the final tier no longer come with innate Wildcard slots. This way, even outdated governments are still viable as they continue being upgraded through the slot unlocks.
  • All new governments come with Legacy policy cards. They are unlocked by building the Chancery (which no longer requires any tech or civic to build, only a government of the new tier).

Compatibility and Recommendations

Requires Gathering Storm and Project 6T's "Grand Eras". Further, the Ethiopia DLC is required for the Chancery, which unlocks the legacy policy cards.

Known Issues
  • No Moments for the final government tier anymore.

I don't know about the Casus Belli, if you test it and find out, let me know.

@JNR I'm already aware of the differing Diplomatic penalty of having a different government (especially the abnormally high one from Revolutionary Republic lol). What I meant to ask for is: Do the Enlightenment Governments allow the usage of the "Ideological War" Casus Belli (which is now unlocked with Geopolitics instead of Ideology in your Grand Eras mod)?

Ah I see. I never updated the screenshot, yes, but ingame it has been fixed for a long time.

So, about government rivalries, I added a little twist here.
- Empires with Noble Commonwealth will be tolerant of all other forms of government, just like empires with earlier governments.
- Empires with Absolutism will have the same intolerance for other governments as empires with modern ideologies do.
- Empires with Revolutionary Republic though... they will absolutely *hate* other governments. Their intolerance for other government forms is twice as high.

@JNR I think Falconer thought it was misspelled because of the spelling mistake on the screenshot (this has been addressed in-game since then however).

Also, do the new Governments allow you to wage earlier ideological wars from having differing governments or do you still have to wait until the Atomic Era for the proper Ideologies?

Sovereignty is misspelled

did you have the mod required by this one active?

At some point this mod was compatible with Harmony in Diversity, but it's not anymore. Tested with HiD 1.3.9 and 6T Enlightened Government Expansion only.

I've been spending hours trying to figure out how something is done to make a change to this mod (I wanted to make revolutionary's legacy be the extra pressure, instead of the other stuff). Finally figured out it's just what you don't include in policy modifiers, and that's what gets put into the legacy card.

Only to find out you already include it! On purpose or a mistake, thought I'd report it. Deffo something I'm gonna keep in for myself but ya, thought I'd let you know:

Core\Gov_Tier5_Bonuses_Revolutionary.sql #165

('POLICY_GOV_JNR_REVOLUTIONARY', 'REVOLUTIONARY_JNR_LOYALTY_PRESSURE'),

Shouldn't be in there, as it shows up in the legacy card (can be confirmed by checking out "revolutionary legacy" in civilopedia)

That was fun to figure out though. About the only exercise my brain gets ha

I am not planning to work on special compatibility with BBG.
