I don't know about the Casus Belli, if you test it and find out, let me know.
RoxyRiku94 8 Jan @ 1:47am
@JNR I'm already aware of the differing Diplomatic penalty of having a different government (especially the abnormally high one from Revolutionary Republic lol). What I meant to ask for is: Do the Enlightenment Governments allow the usage of the "Ideological War" Casus Belli (which is now unlocked with Geopolitics instead of Ideology in your Grand Eras mod)?

Ah I see. I never updated the screenshot, yes, but ingame it has been fixed for a long time.

So, about government rivalries, I added a little twist here.
- Empires with Noble Commonwealth will be tolerant of all other forms of government, just like empires with earlier governments.
- Empires with Absolutism will have the same intolerance for other governments as empires with modern ideologies do.
- Empires with Revolutionary Republic though... they will absolutely *hate* other governments. Their intolerance for other government forms is twice as high.

@JNR I think Falconer thought it was misspelled because of the spelling mistake on the screenshot (this has been addressed in-game since then however).

Also, do the new Governments allow you to wage earlier ideological wars from having differing governments or do you still have to wait until the Atomic Era for the proper Ideologies?
JNR  [author] 8 Nov, 2024 @ 11:54am
where?
Falconer 8 Nov, 2024 @ 9:21am
Sovereignty is misspelled
JNR  [author] 7 Aug, 2024 @ 7:13am
did you have the mod required by this one active?
Party Parrot 7 Aug, 2024 @ 5:59am
At some point this mod was compatible with Harmony in Diversity, but it's not anymore. Tested with HiD 1.3.9 and 6T Enlightened Government Expansion only.

I've been spending hours trying to figure out how something is done to make a change to this mod (I wanted to make revolutionary's legacy be the extra pressure, instead of the other stuff). Finally figured out it's just what you don't include in policy modifiers, and that's what gets put into the legacy card.

Only to find out you already include it! On purpose or a mistake, thought I'd report it. Deffo something I'm gonna keep in for myself but ya, thought I'd let you know:

Core\Gov_Tier5_Bonuses_Revolutionary.sql #165

('POLICY_GOV_JNR_REVOLUTIONARY', 'REVOLUTIONARY_JNR_LOYALTY_PRESSURE'),

Shouldn't be in there, as it shows up in the legacy card (can be confirmed by checking out "revolutionary legacy" in civilopedia)

That was fun to figure out though. About the only exercise my brain gets ha

I am not planning to work on special compatibility with BBG.
Jed2406 9 May, 2024 @ 6:49am
When combined with bbg, since both mods change the policy slots of communism, it has one more economic policy slot than it should have and is sorted into the tier 5 governments column of the government selection. It's only a minor issue but is there any chance of an update to fix this?
GizmoRichter 7 Mar, 2024 @ 8:31pm
Been having an issue where, when we use the mod it causes a force reload for everyone who is not the host. If there is a fix I'd love to know cause we were really excited to use these mods.
JNR  [author] 20 Feb, 2024 @ 4:31pm
Vanilla tier 3 governments have similar relationship modifiers, all -20 as far as I know. The deviations from that are on purpose - revolutionary republics are meant to attract the scorn of everyone else (see all of Europe declaring war on the French revolution) because they themselves fear it. Whereas a Noble Commonwealth is a middle ground nobody has a problem with.
Wolfmaster 20 Feb, 2024 @ 6:52am
Absolutely fantastic mod. It's mandatory in all my games. I did however notice something peculiar I wanted to point out, which may be intentional, I'm not sure.

The governments introduced here seem to vary wildly in how leaders with other governments view them, even if they are currently using a vanilla government. For example, you receive -40 opinion from being a Revolutionary Republic, -20 from being an Absolutist Monarchy, and strangely 0 penalty from being a Noble Commonwealth. In vanilla, tier 2 and 3 governments generally have a penalty of about -3 to -6 for differing governments.

This last point might be unique to me or my mod setup so it's not a huge concern, but I think the dramatic diplomatic penalties associated with these governments seem to make the AI less likely to choose such governments. In my games they seem to avoid switching to these governments at all.

Thank you again for such an awesome mod!

I think this mod makes some techs invisible in the techtree when you are playing with tech and civ shuffle mode
Harold Smith 30 Jun, 2023 @ 4:27pm
I don't think I am. If you want to be sure, maybe its a good idea to check my modlist out, as that is what I use.

JNR  [author] 2 May, 2023 @ 6:50am
are you using any UI mods affecting the government screen?
Harold Smith 2 May, 2023 @ 5:33am
The UI is messed up with the First Set of Classical Era governments. They are overlapping with the same row where Chiefdom is. Any way to fix this?
JNR  [author] 16 Apr, 2023 @ 6:25pm
Probably, would only require changing all the unlock civics to vanilla ones.
The Big Red Cheese 16 Apr, 2023 @ 6:19pm
Is it possible to make this mod work without your era adding mod? I like all the changes in this, but I don't like any of the changes in the Grand eras mod.
IchLiebeKetchup 6 Feb, 2023 @ 8:59am
When I suscribe to this mod, none of my UI mods work on saved games anyomre.
GhoulishCosmo 3 Feb, 2023 @ 6:58pm
in the game it doesnt say requires grand eras but extended eras, and i cant seem to find that one
Builder 10 Aug, 2022 @ 6:59am
Somehow using only Rule With Faith and not this mod (My game let me load up the save when I unsubbed from this mod unlike with RWF so I know I didn't have these 2 together) I'm getting the same thing as silhouette. Guess that save is bricked. And RWF should be removed from that other collection since it's not compatible with Project 6T
blockbuilderG123 31 Jul, 2022 @ 8:40am
I'm getting the exact same error, I don't have the two mods installed together that Fenragon had
Fenragon 22 May, 2022 @ 2:52pm
I would like to humbly apologize for being an idiot.
I was of the assumption that RWF Alternative Governments only changed government names.

:repoop:<-- this is me. i'm sorry!
JNR  [author] 22 May, 2022 @ 2:44pm
...

obviously don't use RwF Alternative Governments together with this...
Fenragon 22 May, 2022 @ 2:40pm
I understand :).
I have RWF: Alternate Governments and Alternate Policy Screen installed.
I got tons of leader mods as well, but those shouldn't touch governments.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry *too* much about it. I use a lot of your other stuff without issues.
JNR  [author] 22 May, 2022 @ 2:35pm
I'm not getting any crashes. Any other government mods active? Or maybe together with other mods, you have Gold discounts stacking above 100%? No idea if that causes crashes, but hard to know where to look for bugs when you can't replicate them :/
Fenragon 22 May, 2022 @ 2:29pm
I'm having the same issue as mr @Silhouette
fabriciofialho 20 May, 2022 @ 12:51pm
After installing 6T, neither the tech nor the civics tree open.
Zakar 11 May, 2022 @ 2:56pm
Could you add political factions in the governments please?
(≧ω≦。) 10 May, 2022 @ 9:54am
I applied this mode. The world congress will have one more wild card slots on the agenda, I can only choose the government of the last tier.. Can you fix it?

I'm sorry if it's weird because I used a translator.
Silhouette 30 Apr, 2022 @ 8:40am

Not planned, no. Was considered during development, but there aren't enough unlocks to be placed there, especially in the tech tree (but civics tree would struggle, too). I might increase science and culture cost of renaissance and industrial era though to make this time period last a bit longer. Very tricky to balance because around this time uniques will kick in really hard and progression speeds will start to drift apart a lot.
@TheRealNortonI 10 Mar, 2022 @ 5:17pm
Will you make a full Enlightenment era?
H.Humpel 8 Mar, 2022 @ 2:49pm
Hi JNR,
your mod has been translated by Junky into German and the translation is now part of the German translations for Civilization VI mods mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.
JNR  [author] 5 Mar, 2022 @ 2:51pm
no i just forgot to remove it from the UpdateDatabase section. The file no longer exists, it was split into a separate one for each government at some point during development.
Junky 5 Mar, 2022 @ 2:34pm
I got an error in Modding.log:
ERROR: Invalid file reference in action, did you forgot to add it in <Files>? - Core/Gov_Tier5_Bonuses.sql
JNR  [author] 2 Mar, 2022 @ 9:46am
Can't say yet, sorry. Rather soon, though, since SeelingCat is already looking into making them compatible as well.
Gerand Darthmore 2 Mar, 2022 @ 9:27am
When it will be compatible? I refuse to play the game without Nomina.
JNR  [author] 2 Mar, 2022 @ 12:45am
Not yet compatible with Nomina, but working on it. But it is compatible with Urban Complexity, the government plaza remains untouched since the new tier uses the Chancery for the legacy policy instead.
JNR  [author] 2 Mar, 2022 @ 12:40am
it should be compatible, this mod is only to replace "Alternative Governments". If the other RwF mods such as Starting Governments, Government Overview, and Custom Historical Moments still work for you, you should be able to play with them. But in that case you might as well use Alternative Governments instead of this one. The Grand Eras civics support it and will place those new governments from RwF in the same civics, accordingly.
cozmicclockwork 1 Mar, 2022 @ 10:03pm
will there be some kind of compatibility between this mod and the module for RwF starting governments since they require another module for changing the governments screen? Or do you plan on making your own form of starting governments at some point with this new project?
angelo378 1 Mar, 2022 @ 7:55pm
Holy crap! It works with your Urban Complexities Mod, right?
Gerand Darthmore 1 Mar, 2022 @ 6:25pm
